This hotel is not only located near all the sights but it is in a lovely old building that has been restored to perfection. We had room 4 on the second floor. Double windows blocked out any noise that could have come from the street. There were also shutters. The bathroom had hot water and the most amazing shower (see... More

I stayed for 2 nights in this lovely, Colonial hotel. The entrance hall and the rooms are delicately decorated and styled! The staff is extremely pleasant and friendly, one feels like more than a simple guest! Breakfast ist very good with several options of fruits, bread, pancakes, eggs, cereals and and and. Squeaky wooden floors ? Yes ! I wouldn't expect less of this kind of old, incredibly charming hotel right in the middle of the old town. The exterior is cute enough, but the interior is gorgeous ! The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout, they all spoke English well enough to communicate easily. I loved the breakfast with some... More

We stayed there for 2 nights. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Cuenca's historical district. The interior is gorgeous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the top floor with a great view of the Cathedral dome. Even though it was facing the streets, we were not bothered by any noise and slept... More

We stayed five nights and Balcones was a good base for exploring Cuenca. Old, creaky, charming, and friendly. Decent but not great breakfast in a nice terrace breakfast room. The modern bathrooms are great but our room was rather cold, dark and noisy. Our room with balcony was not well insulated from the noise of the street traffic and beeping... More

It is a nice building with a nice rooftop restaurant. Rooms are updated and unique. The building is located close to historic part of town. There is no buffer between your windows and very noisy street at night. The street was noisy due to fast driving taxis all night long on cobblestone street. This is probably the noisiest hotel i... This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and this time I stayed in their long term apartments. They have 1 and 2 bedrooms apartments for rent as well as the nice hotel rooms. If your stay is going to be more than a week and you do not feel like eating out every night, this might be a... More

We stayed there 2 nigths and we really enjoyed it! We got a room with balcony and it was a little noisy but really charming. The beds are old but the room was clean and warm (it was pretty cold outside). Make sure you get a room with balcony!

We stayed three nights in this colonial hotel. Comfort room, well equipped with roof top terrace for excellent breakfast. Staff always available to provide recommendations. Very well positioned. Almost walking distance from the most interesting place in the city center.
