We spent two nights in Cuenca. We enjoyed our first night in another hotel, but came across Casa San Rafael, met the owners, and fell in love. We decided to stay the night and was amazed but the incredible friendliness of the owners and staff of the hotel. I have never met nicer people! The rooms were very nice, quaint,...

This hotel has appealing decor and warm and friendly staff. The owner insisted on sending me upstairs with some hot tea for the evening. It's right in the downtown area near Parque Calderon so easy to soak in the atmosphere of historic Cuenca. A nice place to stay. The basics were solid. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable, and...

This hotel is very pretty, and the friendly staff really make it a great experience. The food is yummy - try poached eggs in a desert glass with a spoon - or the plentiful fruit and yogurt; nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The only reason I did not give it the full 5 stars if you are...

I enjoyed our stay at Casa San Rafael. We actually ended up staying 2 days longer than originally planned, and part of that was due to the excellent service and experience we had with the staff at Casa San Rafael. Everyone at the front desk was very accommodating, including allowing us to leave luggage there while we went to visit...

We had a great stay at Casa San Rafael! Our room was beautiful, with comfy beds and nice, clean, modern bathrooms. The staff was fantastic and helped us to arrange parking for our rental car (1 block away - very easy and well priced!). The included breakfasts were fresh, tasty, and satisfying, and the location could not be better. You...

Very nice place to stay in Cuenca. The hotel is a lovely older house with antiques and nice common areas. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is located a few blocks from the main square. They can also help arrange tours in the area.

A very friendly and helpful staff add to the extreme charm of this beautiful hotel. We were there 4 nights, and were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, our room had a little balcony where we could watch the goings on in the street below. Nice little arty details decorate the interior of the hotel, the atmosphere is just...
