A mixed experience, for the hotel has a fine staff, a good breakfast and the rooms were spacious and fairly well-appointed. The hotel is at the edge of the historic district, about a 15 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas. With its large courtyard, the rooms are dark and quiet at night. The problem is a lack of heating,...

So good to know our weaknesses! Thank you for your comments. Now, all our Superior Rooms are provided with a heater system. Standard ones can have it for a small extra. (energy is an extra cost) or ask for more blankets for free. March was a terrible month for Peru. Floods and rain caused big damage. We tried to keep...

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were greeted with friendly and helpful staff. We were able to leave some luggage in storage while we went on a 2 day side trip. The room was spacious and recently renovated and the onsite cooking class was gun, entertaining and reasonably priced. Breakfast was not extravagant but was adequate...

Staff was very helpful, they tried to solve any our problem, breakfast was very good: eggs, ham, cheese, fresh juices, coffee, different types of tea, fresh fruits... Our room was quite and big, hot water, good wi-fi.

Beautiful garden surrounded by the rooms. They have Peruvian cooking classes everyday and spanish lessons in the garden. The receptionists were very friendly and spoke english very well. They were very helpful with tour information and let us have a late check out for about half the price of the room. Lovely stay!

We arrived early in the morning after an overnight bus journey and were greeted by Juan in a very helpful and friendly way. We didn't expect to have access to our rooms until later but Juan helped us up with our luggage and settled us into our rooms straight away. That set the tone for our stay. Staff were always...

We care about our guests. If there is a room available early morning, of course, we offer you that option. And if not, you are invited to have breakfast with us and rest for a while in our central garden. Surrounded by tranquility and nature. Thank you very much for your visit. We are happy when our guests are happy!

Had a great stay here. We paid a bit more for a better room. Rooms open onto the garden with tables and sunshades. Lovely friendly staff speaking good English. Great breakfast. Our son left at 3am to go on a trek and was offered a wake-up call with coffee! Loved the birds, but best is the tortoise. Due to horrendous...

Everything we looked for in a city hotel and one that helped get our 6 month trip of South America off to a good start and to a relaxing finish with a second visit. Maybe the City Hotel with the biggest garden in town!. And yes, you are friends as soon as you get to the place. So friends are entitled to receive our best service. That's the main consideration we have. Such a good idea to take breakfast in the garden, right? Thank you very much. Hope to see you or some of...

My husband and I felt immediately at home in Casa de Avila. We spent a week there exploring the area and taking Spanish classes in their beautiful garden. Well located 5-10 mins from the Plazas de Armas, Casa de Avila was originally a large family home. Now the spacious well appointed rooms surround the flower and bird filled garden courtyard....

I enjoyed my stay at Casa de Avila. The hotel room was modern and clean. It had a lovely sunny courtyard. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. A walkable distance from the centre of Arequipa.

Actually, its called Casa, but its really bigger than a Casa right? And I agree, staff here is the best asset we have. They are increidible and very original. Away from noisy traffic of the center, but very close to all attractions, in a quiet neighborhood in Arequipa Thank you

Yes, thats what we want you to feel while staying in Casa de Avila. A close relation with nature and relax. The garden is great for spending sometime under the umbrellas and take a natural juice meanwhile. And breakfast next to the garden, with birds singing and flowers blooming is spectacular Welcome anytime!

“The wifi doesn't work when the hotel is full so go out to the front desk area if you need to use internet. We splurged for the king room which was awesome as my wife and I are both tall people; it was nice to have a normal size bed in a country where double beds are the norm. The king room also came with two large storage closets and a mini fridge!”
