We arrived after a day in Lima. Stayed 3 nights in beginning and 1 night on our way home. Great restaurant, breakfast buffet, spa, massages, room and gardens, personnel. The decoration was design level, and room was beautiful and quiet for sleeping. We took their offer to learn to make Ceviches, and it was a fun and delicious experience. I...

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. It is a beautifully restored property with a spa on property. They only have 15 rooms, so the service is excellent. The restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast buffet was beautifully layer out. You felt as if you were in a friend's home. I can't wait until my next stay.

This an excellent boutique hotel with 16 rooms in a 17th century courtyard, Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent, we were shown how to make a Pisco Sour, good spa and next to plaza nazarena best, if most expensive part of Cusco.

Our stay at Casa Cartagena while on a weekend getaway anniversary trip was simply incredible. The "Royal" suite was one of the best suites we have ever stayed in anywhere. Over the top in every way. The service was outstanding and the location is perfect. We've stayed here a few times and can't recommend it enough.

Beautiful old hacienda in quaint old town Cusco. Great location. The staff was so nice and wanting to please. Wonderful breakfast with eggs cooked to order. The rooms were spacious with balconies overlooking the courtyard. My main dislike is the ultra contemporary decor. Plastic everywhere, chairs, tables, giant plastic lighted balls in the courtyard. Our room had a giant arrangement...

Very clean hotel, Rooms are nw, I suggest booking a king bed as the queen room is quite small. Friendly staff. I would stay there again. Laundry was expensive to do, I owl rec finding a laundry mat instead. There really isn't a lobby, but we were out an about most of the days anyway.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Cartagena CuscoHigh in the Peruvian Andes lies the historic city of Cuzco, famous for its unique blend of Spanish and Incan cultures. Located just off a tranquil square behind the main plaza of Cuzco, Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa Cusco emerges after years of restoration, which respected the original design of the historic house, to become one of the most exclusive boutique hotels in the city. Its walls of carved stone, which combines warmth, elegance and perfection, invite you to experience the fascinating magic and traditional mysticism that will transport you through time in this historic Spanish house declared a cultural heritage site of Peru. Its lovely atmosphere was built on an ancient Incan site, occupied by the ruling nobility of that time and from which it takes its name: Casa Cartagena, former property of the local Spanish ruler of Cuzco, Don Fernando Cartagena and Santa Cruz. This luxury hotel in Cuzco is an intimate refuge that has only sixteen spacious and comfortable suites, which perfectly blend the modern with the ancestral and luxury with the historical. The rooms are distributed symmetrically along a spacious patio of your dreams where time is suspended. It is located in the historic center of Cuzco, which was declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site.Recovery from an exhausting trip to Machu Picchu or the Sacred Valley of the Incas with our Qoya Spa will be something truly unequalled. It can be perfectly complemented with a delicious dinner in our restaurant which offers the best of local cuisine, "La bodega de la Chola", where poet Pablo Neruda was inspired and Che Guevara shared bohemian nights; it is considered one of the best restaurants in Cuzco. All of these unique features of Casa Cartagena and our warm and personalized service will make your stay in Cuzco an experience you will never forget. ... more   less
