We had a really nice stay in this hostel. The rooms are really pretty, everything was clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Good hot showers and tasty breakfast in the mornings are included. It's three blocks walking distance from Plaza de Armas. Definitely recommended!

Booked a bed in 4-person shared dormitory with private bathroom for 3 nights (6-9 Sep 2016) for about USD15 per night. Heading to Plaza de Armas was easy downhill 10 mins walk, walking back up took much longer for me, I was out of breath very easily from the altitude but not a problem, took my time and walked slowly....

This hostel was great! We had a group of 32 and were treated very well. The staff were so helpful and kind. There is a small kitchen that we were able to use from 11am-10pm. We were also given permission to use the breakfast area to meet as a large group. The rooms were very clean and had handy lights...

This place is absolutly wonderful! We stayed two nights in a private room and were very happy. The garden is beautiful and the breakfast is great! The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside is the location is slightly far from the main square, but if you don't mind walking it is a nice walk, about 15 min. They...

Inexpensive place with friendly and helpful staff. Great ambience music and nice lounge with mate de coca and coca leaves available all the time for free! A coffee machine and a fridge with beer and water! Good shower, a very simple breakfast and just 5 minutes walk from Plaza de Armas. Cheap laundry in the same street.

The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because of two things, 1)- the wi-fi was very slow sometimes not even worth using, 2)- there is a mob of stray dogs that live at the front of the hostel and they erupt into huge fights while you walking past. The location was great, just a short 5 min...

Stayed here for a week in Dec 2016 while exploring Cusco. Staff were very helpful for arranging transportation (including changing of airline reservations) and fluent in English (and patient with my Spanish attempts). The common room was comfortable, a nice gathering and interacting place, and had a continual supply of hot coca tea to help deal with the altitude. They...

The bedrooms, common areas and bathrooms are all amazingly clean. The beds are comfortable with good blankets and a duvet. A reasonable sized locker for each person in the rooms. Staff were so wonderful and kind. Allowed you to store luggage for free and could stay in the hostel after check out if waiting for a night bus.

Excellent location, very helpful staff and very comfortable beds. The hostel has everything you need (water, coffee, beer, kitchen, left luggage). Highly recommend it. Only hangup was the WiFi kept dropping.

Mama Simona had a friendly environment, good common area, clean rooms, and staff. We opted for the double room but they have many room options available. Free (large)lockers to store your things are provided. No complaints here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
