I really enjoyed mama Simona. Quiet but nice people staying there. Not necessarily a social hostel but you can easily make friends! Friendly but usually shy staff. Clean and well organized. Good safe location.

The hostel was great we stayed their for two days till we left for allantaytambo. The breakfast was "meh" simple but you get what you pay for. The concierge made reservations for us in mama Simona allantaytambo. Also very relaxing next to a river surrounded by mountains.

Mama Simona is a great friendly hostel with a mix of private and dorm style rooms. We were a large group and stayed a twin private (with a bathroom) and a dorm style room. The place is great - very clean rooms and bathroom (at least the private bathroom that I used), and has free breakfast and use of two...

Stayed in this twice during a trip to Cusco, would recommend staying here. Receptionist are so lovely and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable, although the ones on the ground floor can be a little cold. They arrange tours at a good price and even called the doctor for me when I got sick. Hostel has a very Andean feel,...

When you compare hostel with hostel this one comes out near the top. Good central lounge and social area (though it could get quite cool) but for those camped in rooms surrounding it that social area usually meant no sleep until 10pm. After that the staff were very firm about insisting on a noise free zone. Dodgy wifi but hey,...

The dorm rooms are nice and well set up. They have 6 person, 8 person and 10 person dorms. They noise Can get out of hand with the cracking floors and thin walls. This place is in a good location not far from plaza de armas. However there are dogs hanging outside, barking all night.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
