Very nice decoration, very central, friendly and helpful staff. Internet access, lockers to store the luggage, many services. Just one shortcoming: the central room can be quite noisy when groups gather early in the morning or at night and few rooms are far away enough from it to avoid that inconvenient.

We stayed here in two separate stints in Cusco. The staff are so professional and helpful (and speak English), they can't do enough for you. Beds are changed every day and rooms cleaned. They were very helpful when I fell ill calling the doctor out for us and letting us change our plans. The beds are really comfortable and there...

We loved our stay(s) at Mama Simona- the rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and warm with down comforters, in room bathrooms all look to be updates, TP and towels are provided, too, a nice change from many SA hostels. Common areas are very lovely, and there is plenty of locker storage space for those trekking the Sacred Valley....

This was the best hostel I stayed in during my trip to South America. The duvets were so cosy and warm, the staff were great and the hostel felt very organised, clean and friendly. They had a free book swap which is almost unheard of in South America, free tea and fast internet. The water was very warm and consistent....

A nice place where you feel at home. It's located at 15' walking from Plaza de Armas. The room was big enough and nice, the receptionists were kind and helpful, they can lend you alarm clocks, lockers, etc. The breakfast was ok,definitely a high price/quality ratio.

Mama Simona is a very good hostel, great value for money, the staff are lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The common area is great and the hostel is in a very convenient location. The only down side is that noise travels quite a lot in this place and unfortunately we had some disrespectful tourists staying at the same...

Location is not the best as you need to have a slight uphill walk from Plaza de Armas. But still it is near Plaza de Armas and convenient for food and money exchange. Room is clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I had an early checkout at 4am without any problems. Breakfast and wifi signal are average.

This is a really nice hostal, and i have seen many. Most places don't have that great of beds or great bathrooms, this place had really nice beds and really nice blankets with down feathers, and cusco can get realllllly cold at night so this is important. I had to check is at 10:30 am, but you can store your...

A great place to stay at the border of Cuscos historic center. The vibe is friendly with laid-back atmosphere and a nice little common area to browse the internet. Breakfast is simple but you can have eggs or omelettes for 2-5 soles. Hot water depends on the mood of the shower.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
