As far as value for money goes, this hotel is the best we have ever stayed at. Its a brand new hotel, very chic and stylish with modern comforts. We stayed in the Junior Suite. In a good location. Loved the interior design very inspirational.

We stayed three nights at this hotel, which is conveniently located about 5 minutes from the main square in Cusco. The hotel is comfortable and has great views over the city from the upper floors. Friendly staff all speak good English and they have musical entertainment each night in the courtyard. They light a big fire, which creates a great...

We liked the boutique style hotel el Mercado for its fitout, service and the nice rooms. With a lot of imagination, style and care the whole hotel leaves a lasting impression and is very different to the standard hotels. We loved to stay here and enjoyed one of the best breakfast buffets.

I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. The proximity to the main sites is too convenient. The front office staff was very accommodating and courteous. There is complimentary wifi and breakfast buffet. The breakfast was terrific. Typical breakfast fare, coffee, tea, scrambled eggs, bacon, breads, yogurt, granola, jams, cheese and meats. You can also get an omelet to...

Located a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Excellent service all around. All the staff were cheerful and pleasing. The rooms are small but clean. The hotel features and fire pit and live music during happy hour. When it rains the musicians move into the bar. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Don't missing the fruit smoothies made to...

Spent two nights here - one on either end of a trip to Machu Picchu. It's a beautifully restored old building a few blocks from the main square. There is an open area patio in the middle with plenty of comfortable seating (sofas, tables and chairs, etc.). In the early evenings live music is offered from 5-7 p.m. There is...

Probably the best hotel on our 17 day trip around Peru. Small entrance up a quite steep cobbled street about two blocks from the main square. Inside an open to the sky courtyard with central fire (gas) and live music in the evenings - on one night we were there there was some outstanding guitar playing. The rooms are spacious...

El Mercado is a good base for exploring Cusco. For me, it was the jumping off place for a hike to Machu Picchu. I arrived in Cusco a couple of days before my hike to acclimate to the 11,000 ft altitude. The room was comfortable, the food was good and the staff was attentive. The hotel is a short walk...

Stayed here 4 nights and visited Machu Picchu on a Day trip from Cusco among other things. Great rooms and a lovely courtyard with live music around a bonfire every night. Very good breakfast with a lot of different fruit juices.
