I have been traveling to Iquitos since 2011. I have been in Iquitos over twenty times. I have stayed in many Hotels all over Iquitos. I have stayed in the old Hotel Maranon over 60 nights. The rooms are always clean. They have good air condition an and the best WIFI I have had in Iquitos. Milka cooks breakfast it...

I just returned from a week long stay in Iquitos and my time at the Marañon was great. The staff was very attentive to our tram and gracious to us when we struggled to communicate. The food in the restaurant was always fresh and the rooms were very clean. This is a great place for gringos and is located near...

This was my first time in Iquitos so I don't know what other hotels in the city are like. The staff at this hotel were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious and graciously served (I'm not used to having breakfast served in three courses, but it felt elegant!). The hotel itself appeared to be in transition, however -...

Hotel Maranon is located near the heart of gringo territory of Iquitos. One block from the main plaza de armas, two blocks from the river and most of the sites frequented by westerners are nearby. Staff is friendly, but few speak English. No elevator but three floors to navigate. Breakfast includes fruit, juice, rolls and eggs. Order scrambled as they...

I stay in Iquitos fairly often. This is my first time at the Maranon. The location is perfect, just one block from the plaza and a block and a half from the Naynay River. When you consider that this is a third world country, the rooms are perfectly adequate and clean. There is a refrigerator, phone, air conditioning and TV...

I go to Iquitos on Business fairly often, I've stayed at Victoria Regia, Nuevo Maranon and 'Old' Maranon and I prefer the latter. You don't get a fancy breakfast or the extra flourishes of the other 2 places, but for a clean room with AC and TV and hot shower for a really good price, I think this is a...

i stayed at the 'old' maranon hotel several times. the location is perfect, just one block from plaza de armas. be sure to reserve one of the inner rooms since the outer rooms are pretty loud during 24 hours. breakfast is very good. the pool allows some real swimming due to its length of about 10 m. last time i...

The best thing Maranon has going for it is an important one: The place is super clean. Our room was slightly outdated/run down (old furniture, scratched walls, lumpy pillows, etc), but it was clean (aside from the bedspread, which we didn't need anyhow). Our room fronted on the street, but the bathroom still managed to have a slightly mildewy scent....

The sign for Hotel Marañon has three stars on it, which suits the hotel perfectly. It's a nice enough place, but it's nothing to write home about. The location is excellent: it's one block to the central plaza and two blocks to the Malecón (Amazon River promenade). I have no complaints whatsoever about the staff members. They were very friendly,...

I was put up at this hotel by my Amazon lodge when I wanted to stay an extra night in Iquitos I was pleasantly surprised - the service was excellent, one desk person went out to her scooter and got me an handkerchief (I had lost all of mine), the little house maid went to carry my heavy bag downstairs,...
