After a very long day flying initially from Manchester to Heathrow then onto bogata and finally Lima, this was to be our first stay of many hotels for our fabulous Peruvian tour one of our final destinations the famous machu Picchu. This hotel was lovely, great welcome we received from a fabulous English speaking receptionist. Very helpful throughout our stay....

Cental location in Maliflores and plenty of markets within 3 blocks. No fridge or tea/coffee facilities in room. No free water. Only 2 small towels. Nice ceiling fan plus wall air conditioner. Wall flat screen TV. Comfy beds and extra pillows. ATM in the lobby. Free computors to use. NO sound proofing at all. Besides extremely bad road noise you...

Hotel well located close to the craft markets and Kennedy Park. Staff recommended places to eat which was helpful as arrived late from airport. Room large and clean, well stocked breakfast buffet provided. Staff service on reception excellent - assisted with tour bookings and called taxis for me.

The staff is really kind and willing, hotel is clean and comfortable, brekfast excellent. The location is really good, 200 min from the Malecon and Larcomar shoping centre, in front of Inka market and close to the Kennedy park in Miraflores. I am looking forward to stay there in my next trip to Lima.

A comfortable hotel in the posh neighborhood of Miraflores. There is a convenient mall across the street with a Starbucks, pharmacy, optician, and more. There are good restaurants nearby. A pleasant place to stay if you've just arrived in Lima after a long flight.

Excellent service. They are all very friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast food was delicious. the room was cleaned everyday. Thank you Pilar! and size of the room was big enough for us and our baby. They provided a crib. It just needed a mini fridge in our room. Very quiet & safe area.

Used free internet but decided to use the paid internet (15 soles for 24 hrs) as it was better then going down to the lobby every time we wanted to use the internet. Handy to the souvenir shops across the road. Not too far to walk to the cliffs above the beach. Couldn't readily find where to go to have...

Free Internet is only included at the lobby. You can only get internet at your room if you pay a daily fee of 15 soles per day. That is probably the only thing I did not like about the hotel. The location is pretty good, it is right in front of the mercado inca, where you can get souvenirs. Lots...

This is a fine hotel. Location is good, you can go walking to many places. It is 20 min walk from Lamarco Shopping and Huaca Pullcana. The breakfast is good, specially the scrambled eggs and cheese. Bed is good ans room is big. The street in front of the hotel is a bit noisy, so i would recommend to ask...

A very safe neighbourhood to walk about, in fact our tour guide lived in the area which he was very complimentary about. We had a room on the second floor on the front of the hotel which was reasonably quiet even though it was close to the road. It was well appointed with a good shower and an easy walk...

Hello. Will be going on an escorted tour in spring of 2015. This will be one of the hotels I'm staying at. Will be visiting Lima/Arequipa/Puno/Cusco/PuertoMaldonado/SV/Ag Calientes on this tour.

I like to pick up several Art pieces from local artists as souviners whenever I visit another country (I'm from the US). I've been researching what Peru is know for and noticed the Gourd art, carved or painted. It is unlike anything I've seen and from pictures I don't see it is as available as textiles, jewelry, carved wood. On top of that I have seen some of the pieces get quite large which is what I want because I will want to display it on the floor instead of up on a shelf so I would love to get pieces that are a foot minimum to preferably 2-3 feet in height. Does anyone who lives/works in Peru or any travellers know of a place(s) to shop that specializes in that art, would have a large selection and possibly large pieces? (It can be at any of the locations I mentioned) The seller would have to be reputable and have ability to ship because If I get big pieces I feel I will have no choice but to ship. I don't mind paying moore for more elaborate pieces that I might not find at the markets (plan to shop those too). Will also be looking for a tapastry and table runners but it seems there are plenty of those at the markets. Average prices of these things would be helpful as I'm trying to figure out what to budget.

What is the average tip for meals, carrying luggage and for those who have taken tours what is appropriate tip for guides, again trying to budget.

I see people talk a lot about meat, I don't do beef/pork/chicken but I do eat fish/eggs/dairy. Don't hear much about fish, is it widely available? Are vegetarian soups available.

Last I hear about people getting sick from food. I don't think I'm prone to getting sick from previous travels, plan to bring anti-nausea, anti diarrheal, anti altitude sickness meds but is there any advice how to avoid getting sick in the first place? Hate to be in such an exciting country and not experience some of it.

Thanks
