Decided to stay first night in the Sacred Valley before heading back to Cusco in readiness for our Inca trail trip. In hindsight this was a great decision as it definately helped with adjusting to the altitude and gave us so much more in terms of experiences than just staying in Cusco. Ollantaytambo is a fantastic little town steeped in...

We loved the town. It was busy in the center in high season and at the Inca ruins which are right in town. But that was offset by The ruins which are very impressive, (it's amazing how they got those big stones up the hill) and the excellent hiking available in the area. Our favorite part was that within 5...

A Great place to stay, we loved KB and the town. We went on 3 hikes with KB and he is an excellent guide. The Best was up to the Sungate, but Pumamarka and Huchay Cusco were also interesting. In addition his prices were very reasonable and his tours are private. Be careful there is someone in town deceptively using...

Did you get that in the review title—“travelers”? K.B. Tambo is just that, a place for travelers and adventurers, not for demanding tourists who want TVs and room service. If you are looking for deluxe accommodations plush public spaces and pampering staff, KB Tambo is not the place--butut at $20 person, do you really expect that? What you will find...

As first days of traveling are generally very long and tiresome, this hostel was a nice resting spot. I was a bit taken back by the lack of heat but grew to understand that as Peruvian hostels in general. If you are looking for a quiet place, this one's not for you but if you're just stopping by to head...

Weren't planning on staying long but the food and the help the staff provided was awesome (whether it be guiding us on a mountain bike trail or recommending awesome hikes in the area). Instead of doing the Inca Trail, look into taking a guided trip with KB Tambo to Choquequierau, it's amazing and really in the middle of nowhere. Make...

The Hostel is right near the Ollantaytambo ruins and it is a short walk from the train station too. Nice clean room. The shower had an identity crisis. It would alternate between very hot and very cold every couple of minutes. Also the walls are too thin that you can even hear the people next door whisper. Don't say anything...

We stayed two nights at KB Tambo's in Ollantaytambo, and wished we could have stayed more. If only we would have known how much we would enjoy Ollantaytambo's setting and offerings, we would have dedicated a lot more time here. In our pre-trip planning, the town looked like an ideal launch-pad for getting to Machu Picchu ahead of the crowds...

We made all arrangements efficiently by internet and paid upon arrival. KB recommended numerous options for possible side trips from ½ day to several days. This was the only hotel of our trip that actually emailed us a confirmation a few weeks prior to arrival which was nice. If you have been to Peru, you know to confirm, confirm, and…....

We stayed here and loved it! Ollantaytambo was our favorite town in all of Peru and KB Tambo was a perfect home base right in the heart of town. We had a double room overlooking the courtyard and with access to the roof deck with great views of the ruins. KB was a cool cat. Lesson we learned to take...
