Nice small hotel, convenient to everywhere, clean, let us store our bags for our MP trip, WIFI is iffy everywhere in Peru, We had sufficient hot water, The breakfast was a little skimpy, but across Peru, that seems to be relative to the size of...More
We stopped in Ollantaytambo the day before our stay there to catch the train to Machu Picchu. We were way overpacked for the one night in Aquas Callientes, so when we asked Hotel Sol to hold one bag for us until the next night they...More
Very cute and comfortable hotel, the room was cozy, the shower had no hot water and the wifi did not reach the room. For wi-fi, I had to be in the hotel lobby, which was nice because they provide unlimited hot tea (including coca tea)....More
We spent one night in hotel Sol each side of our visit to Machu Picchu. The room was basic, bed comfortable and reasonably clean. Our room had a view of the Inca ruins which we visited during the morning before catching the train to Aguascalientes...More
I highly recommend Hotel Sol a beautiful quaint hotel in the middle of the gorgeous town of Ollytaytambo. Front the moment we walked in, the lovely Wilbur who spoke such good English made us feel so welcome and could not do enough for us.

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30am on our check-in date, and they let us register and leave our bags at reception but told us we would be able to access our rooms at 1pm. We had a tour booked at 10am so this didn't matter too much, but perhaps write to the hotel in advance? They might be able to accommodate if you reach out to let them know you'll be getting in early. Also, plan ~30min to grab your bags and leave Cusco airport, and another 2 hours to reach Ollantaytambo.

The breakfast typically begins at 6:00 am. However, if you have an early departure, they will kindly have a boxed breakfast available for you to take in the road or eat there. However, it will not be a hot breakfast.
