Urubamba is located to 76 km from Cusco, it is a stunning valley with an incredible scenic beauty, and historical heritage, thanks to its excellent location, it becomes the best starting point to visit Machu Picchu (just an hour and a half by train). The Recoleta Hotel is a historical religious monument built up in the XVII century. This charming Boutique hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was and is the mixed races purest example of the colonial art. The Recoleta Hotel, cautiously remodeled in 2007, has all ascetic, monastic, and magical tradition of an ancient monastery, together with the comfort and technology will make you feel part of the spiritual mysticism of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Monasterio de la Recoleta Hotel is nearby the most important ruins of the Sacred Valley of the Incas such as Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Maras Moray. Its convenient location attracts travelers because it is ideal for acclimatization to the Cusco altitude, and for its pleasant climate and low altitude (2.700 m.a.s.l.), 700 m.a.s.l. less than Cuzco.
Very clean and the people very hopitality, antique but nice. Beside the hotel there is antique church and the most interesting in the park has one trees has 500 years old. Just one the problem is the principal access to the hotel must better and maybe use asphalt.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. While it wasn’t anything fancy, the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the property had a tremendous amount of charm. Breakfast could have been a little more extensive, but the food was fine, and the dinner we had at the restaurant was quite good. This hotel was a little out of the way, but after seeing the ‘city centre’ we far preferred this walk out of the way than staying in the dusty centre of Urubamba.

A very atmospheric hotel. His story can transport you back in time. You can feel like old times. The room was neat and clean, comfortable bed, good food, everything you need during your trip. A nice courtyard, next to a temple where you can enter for a moment of reflection. Nice service.

Loved staying here. A unique and interesting hotel, a renovated monastery with original antique furniture, pictures and trunks on display, with views of the Andes from bedroom windows. Gorgeous flowers in various courtyards. Comfortable lounge/ bar with daily happy hour 2 for 1 specials. Rooms are 2- story with bedrooms with comfortable bed in loft upstairs. Free coca tea as well as other types in lobby. Delicious free breakfast including made to order eggs. Dinner was also delicious with many traditional Peruvian options. Staff was kind and helpful throughout stay, and happily filled our water bottles from purified water jugs. A real treat.

The managing couple was fantastic! Catering to our every want. Food was great, especially made to order breakfasts. The grounds were beautiful, as were the two-level rooms! They even opened up the chapel for us.

This hotel is a lovely old converted monastery, with beautiful (and beautifully cared for) gardens. It’s a very easy 10 minute walk to the centre of town, so it’s close to everything, but away from noise. My room was large, with a huge, very comfortable bed. The attached bathroom had a range of quality toiletries, even including cotton buds, well beyond what I’ve come to expect in a three star hotel. Breakfast was good, and the staff were happy to provide anything I asked for. In fact, more than the gorgeous setting, the staff were what made it…they were all so nice and helpful and welcoming…nothing was too much trouble. One last thing, do ask to see inside the chapel, it’s definitely worth viewing.

A beautiful hotel in a converted old Spanish Monastery in Urubamba. The room was cozy and comfortable with mountain views and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Fantastic location that felt safe and was only a short walk from the town center, restaurants and shops. They offered tea, a restaurant and had every amenity that we wanted during our stay. We arrived after last minute flight cancellation (don't ever fly SKY airlines!) and they were so accommodating and welcoming despite us arriving late. I can't thank Yurema at the front desk enough, her warmth and professionalism in welcoming us was amazing. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and relaxed after a long trip. If you plan on going to Machu Picchu, I recommend getting acclimated for a day or two at this beautiful hotel!…

I absolutely LOVED this charming and characterful place… with so many of the original monastic features tastefully scattered - bells, paintings, furniture … Beautiful gardens and out of the world views of the mountains from the courtyards and gardens! The mini suite was perfect - loved the bed being on a mezzanine level. Luxury sheets, pillows and towels … fantastic bath and shower … excellent cleaning service daily! The staff were the personification of courtesy! Few hotels could live up to the exceptional standard if this hotel! I would love to return soon! THANK YOU for an unforgettable stay!

Nice quiet hotel a short walk from the town of Urubamba. Large room with the bed on a mezzanine level. Bed was hard and made sleeping difficult. No aircon so might get warm in summer? Breakfast was limited, dinner was nice. The ladies in the restaurant were very lovely. Wifi was great and worked well.
