Not bad. Location was just fine I guess. There was a big rain when I was in there so I couldn't go out a lot. Facilities are not bad. Not that clean but still okay. Room was quite small. Bed was comfortable. Staff's English was not very good but still they can understand what you're saying if you speak slowly.

This is a really nice and friendly place. it is conveniently located close to Montevideo's best bares and restaurants, and really close to the bus station to Ciudad Vieja. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is fair and the staff is really really friendly (with some exceptions, but it didn't hurt my overall positive experience). The hostel has a cozy...

For Parking, hot water, breakfast ok, beach proximity ditto ATM & supermarket Can cope with 40 minute bus ride to centre, 4 lanes to cross to beach. If the bathrooms are "in use" you may need to cross your legs a long time. Inexcusable Bed bugs. Come on guys - Uruguay is a breath of fresh air - get yourselves...

I arrived in Montevideo from Porto Alegre after a 12 hour TTL bus ride. I was beat and exhausted, but upon my arrival, I immediately felt welcomed and at home. Gabby, the receptionist, helped me to ease into the hostel atmosphere and answered all my questions with full-hearted answers; her hospitability was invaluable. I was also welcomed with a warm...

This place was a nice easy landing in Montevideo. It has a relaxed chilled out vibe and it was quiet so good for a night's sleep too. There are restaurants and shops locally so you don't have to worry about going too far if you don't want to. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the wifi was very...

By far one of the best hostels I've stayed at in my 3+ months in Uruguay. A very spacious place with a homey feel, where you can really get to know fellow travelers. Breakfast is above average and the beds are comfortable! 2 blocks from the Rambla and one of the safest neighborhoods in Montevideo. They also have another location...

GREAT location! Supermarkets, bus stops in all directions, beach 1/2 block away, restaurants, bakeries, kiosks, shopping malls nearby . . . in all directions. Far better location than staying in the Old City. Very helpful articulate multilingual staff, great rear patio for parilla/BBQ (with wood, charcoal delivery if requested), selection of ice-cold beer/soft drinks on premises . . . if...

This is not a party hostel. Most of the residents it seems are long term 40+, and speaking to the owners that seems a pretty standard thing. This gives it a nice homey feel. Dwcent Irish bar down the road Rooms are fine, showers good. Location good Most alarming thing however was no receptionist past 10pm and lax security!! Nobody...

Punto berro worked for us because we mainly only slept there. there is a nice terrace and good breakfast. very close to the rambla (boardwalk). however, the bathrooms seemed like they are never cleaned with actual cleaning solution, showers were pretty gross, the shower curtains looked like they hadn't been changed in years. I've stayed at many hostels that are...

I stayed five nights at Punto Berro Hostel in a 4-bed dorm, a pretty basic hostel. The dorm AC worked fine all but one day. The breakfast was okay, some fruit, but it varied depending on what seemed to be available, often disadvantageously. The location was just a couple blocks from a beach. The staff was very helpful, particularly when...
