We love the London Palace Hotel in Montevideo! Seriously. After we landed at the Montevideo airport and collected our luggage and our Budget rental car, we drove to the London Palace. This was no problem since I brought our Garmin Nuvicam GPS with us that I had installed the maps of South American on. Great GPS, great system and great... More

This hotel is located perfectly for those wishing to a central location. The breakfast is always pleasing . There are excellent internet facilities in the lobby area. We obtained an early check in without any problems.

Service is good, staff very helpful, breakfast impressive. Rooms are very small. I booked three rooms, two of them were pretty small, the third one even smaller. It has a covered free parking but apparently it shares the facility with a restaurant so they may ran out of spaces for parking. It happened to me, I waited until a guy... More

We liked this hotel. The staff were pleasant and efficient; The room was quiet: The breakfast had plenty of variety and the products were fresh; The bathroom provides a bidet and a very large wash basin; The TV system worked well; The TV scene was HD; There were some sports programs and movies.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October. The hotel is very centrally located in Montevideo, 1 block from the Main Street "Av 18 de Julio", and not to far at all from the plaza independencia and old town. Road noise was not really an issue as our room was not facing the road and had a roller... More

The staff is friendly and helpful. They take care of all requests for information. This includes questions on history, how to find special sites, buses to take, help with car shuttles, etc. The breakfast is to die for. Includes all drinks, a large variety of wonderful pastries, small meat and cheese sandwiches, multiple dulces for your bread or croissant, and... More

The hotel itself does fall a bit short. It's dated, that's for sure, but it's clean and close to the center. One thing that they do well, however, is breakfast. The variety and quality is better than virtually any 4 star hotel breakfast. It made me wish we were staying in Montevideo more than just one night. Who cares if... More

On a 11/14 South America rail tour. Tour booked us into this hotel for 3-nights. Single room with private bath. The bathroom was so small the door blocked the toilet. To access the toilet, one had to enter the room, lean back into the shower and swing the door shut. Behind this door a toilet and bidet are located. The... More

This is not a luxury but a good value hotel which has clearly been in service many years but is well maintained and cleaned. The location is good. Safer at night than being in historic centre which is only a few blocks away. Easy to get to from bus terminal. Take CA1 bus. Lifts are old but they work. Fittings... More

Close to the Old City, but in the centre where access to restaurants and shopping is only a few streets away. The staff were excellent from the moment of checking in to handing back the key at check out. This is an established hotel with lots of charm, from the period lifts, to the dated, but comfortable rooms, that are... More
