Very close to the metro which will take you to the city center in 4/5 stops. Taxi is cheap and fast as well. Nice service, reception staff is fluent in english and rooms are ok.

That’s a good question. I think you will have fly between Belarus and Russia. Go on YouTube and look for Minsk Guide. He has a lot of good information. In general, as a Canadian citizen, you can enter Belarus 5 days visa free (I as an American did the same in March). It just gets trickier when traveling between Russia and Belarus as there are no land border controls, so you have to be careful. Typically, you need to enter Belarus via the Minsk airport for the visa free program. Hope this helps.
