Hotel's Favourite
I have just returned from a vacation in Serbia where I have chosen to stay at the Hilton hotel. I am glad that I have made that choice because the hotel exceeded my expectations in all aspects. I usually choose a Marriott Hotel due to my membership, but I decided to trust my gut feel and choose this one instead after reading the reviews, and I am glad I did. The hotel building itself is new it was opened in 2018. But what makes the hotel very special is its staff! They are a group of young switched on very professional staff who would go the extra mile to ensure that you are satisfied in your stay. We had one issue after spending one night, and we approached the front desk manager Ivan, And his response to our issue was actually very assuring he said consider it done and there is always a solution for any problem that you may have at the hotel. This is the exact attitude that you would expect from a hotel that you’re staying in unfortunately because we have been traveling a lot around the world you don’t see this attitude very common anymore. Thanks Ivan for your help in resolving not just the issue but in all our other queries and questions that we had during our stay. Ivan you are a real asset to the Hilton Belgrade! Thank YOU for making a difference in our stay. The room design is lovely, we love the colours that were used the gym is one of the best gyms that I have seen in a hotel. And the VIP lounge serves a very good selection of food and drinks, thanks to Bruno and Andreij for always making us feel welcomed! We tried Sky Lounge and Oasis restaurant -beautiful garden- while we are staying at the hotel and both had amazing service and great food. The concierge team is another team that I would like to acknowledge, Luka, Vladimir, Marko, and Dodim(i hope I got the name correct. The team arranged for us amazing tours around Serbia and they were kind to provide us also with a bag of snacks for the day tours they were always very patient explain to us what to see and you could see that they have so much passion to present their country in the best light. Ask for Zeljko (pronounced JeyKo) tours for the BEST insider information about Belgrade and Serbia . He is passionate about his work and just the best tour guide we have encountered in YEARS!!! Don’t look any further and book the Hilton for your stay in Belgrade I have searched around even during my stay and I found out that not all hotels have actual air-conditioning systems they have a cooling and heating system which is not advisable especially during the summer season. Even five star hotels! This hotel is new and will adjust to your needs and personalise it as much as they can!

We stayed at Hilton Belgrade for two nights (6/17-18 2021) in its King Two Bedroom Suite. The unit easily accommodates typical family: two separate bedrooms have king and twin beds and a living space. This is also the highest room category at the location, commanding substantial premium, which appeared fully justified before we arrived. We reached the Hotel both exhausted and jetlagged, as COVID wave just begun to ease in Europe. While the entry to the country via nearby airport was both efficient and uneventful, the access to the Hotel was completely different matter. We reached the property in rented car and quickly realized that it was a grave mistake: the only car access to the Hotel was intended for buses, but in practice, it was blocked by private limousines, haphazardly parked. These were not guest cars, but third-party vehicles not affiliated with the Hotel – in spite of welcoming letter we received offering “hotel car transportation”. The only means to actually reach the reception is to drive around in circles and ultimately discover small sign indicating the parking (please see the pictures accompanying this review) – where one is to face the real challenge. It turns out that the “hotel parking” is really an overflowing public garage that is both poorly marked and dangerous to navigate. After nearly 30 minutes, we finally found the spot, descending three levels below the street and then sought our way to the reception, heavy luggage in tow. The reception posed the second challenge: documentation requirements, exceeding those at the airport immigration had to be satisfied. As an example, US passport ID was not accepted, in spite of being the official document readily taken at customs only two hours earlier. The staff attitude was condescending, oblivious to jetlagged family that spent 24 hours navigating COVID travel. No one was at hand to even ask us about luggage assistance. The real surprise waited on reaching the room: while nicely laid out as a small apartment, it was both in disrepair and filthy – please see uploaded pictures reflecting the poor state of the “King Two Bedroom Suite” that currently stands as the highest Hilton offering in Belgrade. Among other peculiarities, the kitchenette had full complement of brass cooking pans but not a single drinking glass. Two out of three toilets were non-functional, bathroom sink was clogged, forcing the guest to use only the functioning side. The level of disrepair and grime was permeating the entire unit, making us nervous about “cleanliness and safety during the COVID” advertised everywhere - uploaded pictures speak for themselves. The room was not cleaned nor restocked the following day, in spite of assurances that COVID did not affect hotel operation. Finally, at 4pm, we flagged down the staff member in the corridor and had the room hastily restocked with clean towels. Final experience was served at the checkout, where receptionist were making outright insults and derogatory statements about the family in Serbian, oblivious that we were both bilingual and within earshot. All this while flaunting mask rules – half of the staff had masks casually placed below the nose or simply hanging. It is extremely difficult to reconcile the entire experience with Hilton brand that never disappointed us in US, Asia or Europe. While this property indeed carries the same brand name, it does not welcome guests expecting the bare minimum: car access to hotel, help with the luggage and basic level of hygiene and service. We had follow-on reservation at the same property in July but have cancelled, not having the strength for the encore. To avoid similar experience, do consider staying at other properties in Belgrade since this city, in contrast to its troubled years, now has plenty of excellent hotels to offer.

First of all I would like to thank you for choosing Hilton Belgrade during your short visit to the capital of Serbia. After reading your feedback, I have to admit that I was extremely displeased to learn that we did not meet your expectations in some areas and that we have missed the opportunity to provide a true Hilton experience to you. In regards to the parking I definitely understand your point and some options are looked at to see how the parking can made more visible to guests but let me inform you that parking was constructed that all the guests cars can be parked in the safe indoor area that are fully covered by CCTV. As hotel has 242 accommodation facilities investors managed to create spacious parking places on 4 levels so that every guest of each room can find his parking spot and feel safe about his car. As business is getting back to the hotel and the occupancy is always on a high level with I fully understand that sometimes it takes a while to get parking place because of many parking cars in the garage and I feel sorry that you had that experience and I hope that next time you will find it much easier. Let me inform you that we are in process to implement Valet Service so I hope that it will make your next arrival much simpler and uncomplicated next time. Regarding the parking that you mentioned next to the hotel, that area is not a place where hotel guests can park their vehicles as it is only a drop zone for guests and groups. Also I do sincerely apologized for the inconvenience you have encountered during your check in but please note as per the law the hotel is mandated to register every guest staying in the hotel, the valid documents that are accepted are, passports, or EU country IDs I understand that after a long flight this could be a bit daunting but unfortunately this is a rule we as a hotel must follow as USA ID is not the document that is valid for hotel registration. Regarding the room cleanliness our standard is to thoroughly inspect all the rooms before guest’s arrival. We have precise and deep cleaning procedures that we take seriously to all rooms and Housekeeping supervisors are taking final inspection measurements before every check in. Health and safety of our guests are one the most important things to us and therefore we take all the necessary steps in regards to that. Last but not least, I am aware that our Front Office Manager reached out to you on your check in and during your stay for any potential assistance that might be needed and I sincerely do wish that any difficulties you have experienced have been brought up right away to us so that we could have reacted right away. Unfortunately I can’t bring back time and I can only apologize for the past, however shall you do plan to return to Belgrade it will be our pleasure to welcome you back and show you why we are one of the best Hilton Hotels in Europe in terms of results, guest satisfaction and appreciation. Wish you a great day and hopefully to see you back in not so distant future. Kind regards, Milos Guest Relations Manager

Amazing experience. This was last minute trip. The concierge at my hotel in Budva Montenegro made a phone call to the Hilton Serbia and everything was arranged. A driver was waiting for me at the airport. Warm welcome by the Hilton staff and quick check-in process. Was upgraded to executive room and everything was perfect. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff. The Skybar sushi was delicious and the craft cocktails where refreshing. Will be going back and as someone who stays at the Hilton often I have to say Hilton Serbia definitely ranks at the top.
