At a few minutes for the fortress, from the Danube River and from the main streets of the center. The room is wide, very silent, well furnished and very clean. The bathroom is new. Breakfast is provided in a nearby restaurant because the hotel is basically a 1-floor house with few rooms. A variety of choices are available, everything fresh and abundant, but all salted except for a dish of fruit. Overall, a very good choice for a visit to Belgrade!
This was going to be a 2* review, but because of the excellent assistance provided by the morning on-site staff member, I raised it to 3*. The main failures were due to management. The evening I arrived, they neither manned the reception, nor answered the phone. That's unacceptable. I was lucky in that someone happened to be passing through the reception area and heard me pounding on the front door, and let me in. On a booking website, the hotel was listed as having "24 hour reception". But once I had booked it, I noticed that on its Facebook page (it has no website), it said check-in was only available until 11pm, and I noticed I might possibly get in shortly after this. I tried calling the phone number that appeared on both the booking site and the hotel -- no answer at 8pm, none at 9pm, none when I arrived at the airport. I raced to the hotel and managed to arrive at 10:55pm -- front door locked, no one there. There was a note on the door with a phone number that did not work. A person who happened to be passing through the reception area called the owner who told him what room I should be assigned. That person also told me the name of the wifi system and the password, but it got no reception whatsoever in my room (although about 20 other networks did appear). My friend called the owner back, who told me I had the right network name (nonworking). So I passed the night without wifi. (The next morning, It turned out that there was an alternate wifi with a completely different name that would have worked in my room, but since the owner said I had the right name, I just suffered.) There was a bar/restaurant across the street from my room with activity into the night (it was a weeknight), and my closed window was not enough to block the noise. Now the nice things: the location is great, especially for visiting the fortress; if breakfast is included, you can choose to have it at a quite nice cafe three blocks away. The room's furnishings are fine, and include a mini-fridge. Finally: it turned out that the person who neglected to man the reception or even answer the phone in the afternoon / evening is the same part-owner that my "friend" called. If I had arrived one minute later, I would have been out in the cold with my "prepaid" room. It is really irresponsible for an owner to neglect these responsibilities. The phone should be answered by SOMEONE during reception hours, and even at other times in case of problems. The morning lady helped fix the situation. I was worried about leaving my bags in their luggage storage in case I needed them back during the afternoon hours when the owner might not bother to be there or even deign to answer the phone, so she solved that problem for me.…
perfect location, especially if with a car - parking is in the yard beside the hotel; very friendly staff, šljivovica waiting for us in the hall, basic rooms, breakfast in a quite trendy pub about 100+ meters from the hotel; coffee tea and water heater in the room; umbrellas for the visitors at the entrace of the hotel were very helpful - we had three rainy days in the city! would visit again
Very cozy and clean hotel with great location next to Kalemegdan park. Superfriendly and helpful staff! Unique atmosphere in a beautiful old building. I would definetely go again. Really enjoyed my staying.
close to lots of action and loved the charm. The cafe around there were awesome and Belgrade is amazing city that people just don't know about it yet. Belgrade has some of the best shopping and prices are fantastic.
