This is one of those places that you hate to praise publicly because you always want there to be space for you. But this little hotel, and the adjoining bar and restaurant, are so pleasing that the owners deserve public commendation. This is a magnificent old house, exquisitely renovated and understatedly decorated. There are only five rooms and so it...

It is the best restaurant in El Salvador. The quality of food and service is world class. They also have the best Gin and Tonic bar in El Salvador. You will be happy with anything you ask from the menu, but I highly recommend the steak with porcini mushrooms and the Shrimp and Lobster pasta.

Loved it! Very nice hotel! Extraordinary location! Even nice to go for a run in the neighborhood, highly recommend! Family owned house converted to a hotel, very spacious rooms, great service. Loved the art everywhere, unique furniture, great atmosphere! Reminded me of La Casona De Tita in Oaxaca.

A must do for anyone in downtown Salvador. The seafood dishes are very fresh - the chef has worldly experiences. The dishes aren't tricked out, they're incredible. Wonderful outdoor and private dinning areas. You'll love this place! Great service, drinks and attached boutique hotel...

I arrived early, was met with a smiling face and a room key. For the custodian, no query for help went unanswered - he even made coffee. I was out all day, needed a document copied and my account settled, the manager came at 2300. Can you beat that?

I stayed a few days in here and liked it because it was a peaceful place. Even when the price was a bit too high for the services offered. A few days into my stay, I realized that I was missing money from the safe box. I did not want to accuse until I was sure the money was stolen...

Take a simple but excellent restaurant, a gin bar, and hide away a handful of beautiful rooms around a sitting room and patio, and you have Casa ILB. If you want to avoid the hotel chains in San Salvador, this is the choice. The restaurant is excellent. I had a hand made pasta with burro e salvia sauce - simple,...

The Casa ILB is surely the best-kept secret in San Salvador. Far from the bustling crowds of the Metrocentro in the safe and leafy suburb of Zona Rosa, it provides the personalized service that very few hotels--even those that call themselves boutique hotels--still do. It is in a former neo-colonial mansion, each room an original room in the house with...
