The hostel is located in a gated community. We took an uber, so it was somewhat straightforward to find (GPS helps). The hostel is also home to a family who uses the living room area/kitchen/dining rooms for personal use. The kitchen was often closed when the family was in there, and we felt awkward knocking to get our food and then putting it back. They had their dresser there, and it felt that's where they got ready for school/bed/etc. (the kitchen was closed a lot) Also, there was not a way to label your food to keep it separate from the family/guests. There were two packed fridges, and we barely found space for our leftovers. There also were not any guests when we stayed. There was construction going from very early on. The pool was not filled in case you were wondering. The rooms are quite spacious and were relatively clean. We were about to go to bed and realized ants were crawling under the sheets. Wifi was decent, but it did not work in our room. The breakfast was ok. For the price, it works but not much of a "hostel vibe" if that's what you're looking for.

Though it's a bit difficult to find (we had to ask locals on the street for help) we're glad we stumbled on this hostel. For $20, we got a big private room for 2 with 2 comfortable beds and private shower. For breakfast they accommodated for our vegan diet and made beans, fried plantains, fruit salad, and bread. My understanding is that the typical breakfast is beans, plantains, and traditional 'ranch' eggs. The staff was nice and helpful, and helped us out with bus routes, and suggested places to visit.

I've been in different hostels in San Salvador. By far, the best quality-price of them. Big clean rooms, with proper private bathroom and the family stay makes it a nice option. Just too comments: if you are looking for privacy, being in their house can be a cons. Also, although the area is safe, there is bad connection with public transport to the main city attractions, so take into account that at leas you'll have to pay taxi to leave and come back...

We stayed here in transit for one night after previously spending a month in El Salvador. The staff were friendly, room was clean and spacious with a huge bed and comfortable. Well priced and there is a great papouseria on the corner literally 1 min walk outside the hostel. Would definitely recommend this place. The guys speak English as well if you have little Spanish.

The owner and staff super great and very attentive, the food was fresh and great. Able to receive from the owner Mr. Eduardo, lots of information related to culture, culinary traditions, history, current events and was helpful in providing transportation direction, has a reliable and trusting taxi service. The place is quiet and you can access transportation to other cities in El Salvador, since you can walk to the bus terminal.

I was an awesome experience at this hostal. It's a family owned business, and they made feel like I was home. The food and services were exceptional . The owner very pleasant and helpful, along with the other members of this place. I rather stay here, than other fancy places where they charge you exaggerate amounts of money. I am really happy to share this experience , and I extremely suggest this place to anyone. Thanks for all your services! See you next time guys...

This is a very safe hostel in a city where you have to be careful. The hostel organised a taxi ride from the airport in an unmarked taxi for $30. The hostel itself is clean and quiet. The first breakfast was a bit small but to be fair we did wake up late. Eduardo does not speak English but is very happy to answer questions using Google translate. The site is in a gated community and we left it several times to site see or get food. There is a wonderful little restaurant just around the corner where the woman cooks local food. My dinner was $1.00. It is close to the childrens museum and a modern art museum.

We arrived to San Salvador at 10 p.m. and were picked up by the taxi arranged by the owner Eduardo. The territory around the hostel is secured by armed guards, so it is a safe place to be. I would not call it hostel, it is more like a guesthouse. We got a big room in the house, where Eduardo and his family lives. For breakfast it was a big bowl with fresh fruits: strawberry, pineapple, watermelon, melon, banana, plum; a couple of toasts with butter and jam and coffee. Everything is made very diligently. Eduardo and his wife put a lot of effort to make their hostel attractive. If you want to travel a bit around and you do not want to use public transport, ask Eduardo. He can arrange a taxi for reasonable price, for instance to Lago de Ilopango or any other place in El Salvador. Eduardo does not speak English but his wife does. Wi-fi signal is surprisingly strong, so you can always use google translate.

Loved this place!! Stayed for 3 nights an absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious and bright. There is plenty of hot water. It's really closed to terminal oriente and while it is a bit of a ways from the city centre it is possible to walk there in under an hour. The breakfasts are fantastic!!

We stay there just one night, but it was nice expierence. The owner do not speak english but his wife does a little..... It was very difficult to find it, even for a local taxi drives. The place is safe and clean. The bathrooms are outside the rooms but its not a problem. You can buy some drinks for good price.
