We stayed here for one night before leaving Nicaragua. The room was fine and clean, but it was really small. We wouldn't have wanted to stay here more than one night. The hotel itself was a bit noisy but it was Saturday night.
I attended a poolside event for ex-pats and very much enjoyed the experience. The courtyard and pool area are beautiful and welcoming - very serene and cozy. The poolside bar service was attentive and snacks / dinner were available as well.

It was pretty quiet while I was there, but the staff was friendly and the hotel is lovely. There are many restaurants within walking distance which is good because their restaurant was closed during my staff. Regardless, I would highly recommend this place if you...More

The building layout is essentially in the shape of a large "U", with all rooms (except one) along the sides of the "U" and the building entrance, lobby/dining area at the bottom of the "U". I think they're doing some construction of that one room exception right now to enlarge it, so yes all rooms opens onto the courtyard. In the courtyard is a fountain with flowers/shrubs and beyond a nice large walled-in grassy area and pool, and a small place off to the side with several exercise machines. Though the rooms open to the courtyard, it really is just the door that opens; I don't recall seeing any windows facing the courtyard (though I could be wrong). Inside each room is a window or french door that opens onto a very small (and not very attractive) courtyard of it's own.
I've stayed at Los Robles twice and will be going back again in a few months. For me, the rooms are comfortable and adequate if I want to write or read something, but they're not a place where I would sit and linger looking out at the courtyard. To enjoy the outdoors I'd sit in the area by the pool or in the lobby/dining area. Incidentally, wi-fi does not seem to work in the rooms, only in the lobby/dining area.
We had room 1 which had its own private patio area but was in the road. To get a room by the pool area I would suggest you email the hotel and put a request in. The staff spoke good English and we found them very helpful... More
