The accomodations are adequate, the hosts are congenial but you are a long, long way from most of the attractions you'll want to see and there is no good public transportation option; taxis are the only choice and many of them don't want to travel to this area.

It is clear that Louis and Teresa take great pride in their place here. Louis himself picked us up at the airport. On our way to the hostal we asked if there was a place near by to grab a few cold beers, he called his wife and had her stock our fridge with a nice cold 6 pack! Before...

I stayed here for 3 nights upon my arrival in Panama City. I was travelling solo and felt safe and secure here. I had a room facing the back, which did help subdue the little street noise that there is. A full breakfast is not included in the price, but you can order one the night before and it will...

This place is a quiet refuge for travellers. The rooms are very clean, have great AC, and we enjoyed stepping out onto the balcony to view Panama City. We also lounged in the downstairs area as if we were at home. Luis let us use the hostal computer for my daughter's schoolwork and you can use the kitchen here as...

Casa Cuba is an affordable option in Panama City. Our room had A/C (which was a blessing in the oppressive heat), a fridge (which was fantastic to have), a TV, and a door to the balcony area. Luis and Teresa are friendly and hospitable. For $7, you can get a very hearty breakfast (juice, coffee/milk, meat, cheese, egg, toast). Alternatively,...

My friends and I chose Casa Cuba based on the excellent reviews it already had, and we were not disappointed! We'd been staying at a much more expensive hotel, but wanted to move to a smaller, more economical place, and we found Casa Cuba here on TripAdvisor, and true to the descriptions of others, it's reasonably priced and very clean....

Luis picked us up at the airport, even after our three hour delay! He, and his wife and staff are just great - helpful and so nice. The rooms are spotless, the breakfast plentiful, and I would highly recommend that you visit Casa Cuba Hostal.

you feel welcome since the first moment. The place is clean, and the area is safe. It has everything that offers. Wifi, cable tv, air conditionair, hot water, refrigerator in the room and clean pool. I first went to another place and I hated there, I remembered the good opinions for this place, so I called Casa Cuba in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Cuba is located in the neighborhood of Pueblo Nuevo, a central area of Panama City. We are located close to three of the main roads of Panama City (12 de Octubre Ave. Via España and Transistmica) and we are only ten minutes by bus from downtown Panama City. Our location is well known and offers many shopping centers, restaurants, drug stores, supermarkets and convenience stores, as well as casinos, banks and other diversions where you can enjoy peacefully and securely. Our location is ideal for connections by bus to other points of interest in Panama City such as Tocumen International Airport (25 minutes), Miraflores Locks (Panama Canal: 30 minutes), Albrook Mall and Metromall (20 minutes, Casco Antiguo (20 minutes). These travel times are typical but every so often they may be longer due to traffic congestion or closed roads, requiring detours, etc.because of the construction of the Metro of Panama. ... more   less

“Sorry, no spa on site that I know of, but I'm sure Luis can help you find an excellent one nearby. Check the prices on individual rooms. We had a great room with a queen size bed and a single bed, a private restroom with a shower, hot water, and good water pressure. The rooms are named after the different regions of Cuba. Ours was the Las Matanzas room. This room and several others at the hostal also have access through the back door of the room to a shared balcony overlooking a beautiful canal with lots of tall trees growing around it and a striking city skyline on the horizon.”
