This hotel is so close to the airport so is a good choice if you have an early flight and want to be nearby. We were required to stay here as the departure point for the Canopy Camp in Darien as it was the pickup point. Rooms are basic but fine. The staff seem a bit clueless - they could only give us 1 room key; restaurant staff are slow and never came back to our table. There is a lovely pool. The food in the restaurant is edible but barely. Breakfast buffet was okay
This hotel is in a fabulous location only five minutes from the airport. There is a shuttle service to the airport every half hour. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned. The staff is kind, polite, and helpful. i have to say that the food in the restaurant was just awful. Even breakfast was lousy. This is why I can’t recommend this hotel.
This is a very clean and friendly hotel. The rooms were comfortable. It is a five minute drive to the airport with hourly shuttles. They have water out with fruit in it for guests which was a nice amenity. The restaurant food was very good. The outdoor area in the center of the buildings is spacious with a large pool and lots of nature around that support different bird species that live there. We watched Euphonia and Woodpeckers building nests and many more hanging around and flying over. There is also a poolside bar. We stayed a night at both ends of our trip. This will be our go to hotel for future trips as well. The desk staff is so nice and helpful. Something happened with one of our reservations. They got right on it with our tour company and gave me hand signals that it is getting worked out, not to worry. Quickly resolved the issue and got us into a room.…
It's a nice hotel that is located close to the airport (3 min). The price is adequate although we paid $130 online and we could have walked in and paid $88. The room was clean and the AC worked. The outside area of the hotel is beautiful with a very nice pool and bar. Breakfast is included although it's a very basic breakfast and the poorest that we've enjoyed while in Panama. They do have a shuttle to the airport that runs on the hour. They do have luggage holding as you won't e checking in till after 2pm. It's convenient, but I recommend that you look at your options. We took an Uber from the hotel to Old Town for $11 and it takes 30 mins.
Just ok, but I’d stay again since it is close to the airport and has a nice pool to relax beside. It’s too bad they don’t fix up the place. Our safe didn’t work. The room carpeting and mattresses needed to be replaced. Had to go to common area to access the wifi. And it took a long time to check in and then our key didn’t work. But the place was clean enough overall and breakfast was ok. McDonalds is walkable if you are brave enough to walk along a very busy road.
When we arrived home and checked our credit card statement we saw that we had been charged $537.45 in the restaurant for two people: a hamburger, a pasta dish and two glasses of water! Someone is enjoying a tip that we did not give. Filed a dispute with credit card company. Also, shower door had a major leak and stepped out of the shower onto a floor covered with half inch of water. Hate being ripped off. For that reason I gave it one star.
Best of the options near to Pty Airport. Big outdoor pool and tropical gardens is a big plus. Restaurant was much better than expected too! Limited menu but well prepared food (albeit the service was a bit slow). Decided to take a $10 taxi rather than wait for the shuttle, but used the shuttle for the return trip (leaves on the hour).
The room was dated, no coffee in the room, or available in the lobby. No washcloths in the room, ordered a room with queen beds, got XL twins, pillows lumpy. Clean but dated. It was OK, the best feature was that it is close to the airport and a shuttle was available.
The room itself was nice enough, clean, comfortable, etc. But we really wanted to stay here because we were excited about the large pool and swim up bar. But the vibe was truly awful, and we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. We hung out for all of 30 minutes before getting back in an Uber and heading to old town where we had been before to spend the evening, even though we had an early flight. If you enjoy hanging out with old, white, conservative, uncultured Americans - then this is your place. If you’re looking for a young/fun crowd go elsewhere. I have never been scowled at by so many miserable women in my life or ogled by gross old men just for wearing a bikini. I was also told there was an airport shuttle every hour on the hour, but somehow watched the 7am shuttle drive away without me at 6:48 in the morning. Then came back and told me I couldn’t get on because 21 white people with matching green Jesus shirts needed the whole shuttle. I took a cab. This place was awful…
3 star hotel Good and not so good things Good Things: Close to the Airport (5 minutes by car), transfers at no cost Airport-Hotel and vice versa. You can rest easy because there is little noise. They give you bottled water to drink in the room and they don't charge you for it. Clean rooms and hot water all the time. Average: The food is not the best but it is decent. At breakfast they give you very few options on the menu but it is acceptable. Some employees are friendly and some are not. Roofless pool for swimming quite acceptable. Not so good things: It is a bit expensive for what it offers, in fact I get the impression that hotels in Panama are overrated, the same goes for food in Panama and the taxi, it seems a bit expensive compared to prices in my country. That I did not like: 1. We arrived a few hours before check-in at 3 pm, and they gave us Early Check-in (so far so good), however they charged us $30 more for that. I wonder if they give you the room before they charge you extra but if you give the room before check out 12 pm they don't give you any discount. That is not reciprocal. 2. We stayed for 2 days, our reservation included breakfast for both days, however the day we left we had to turn in the room early in the morning because our flight left at that time. Faced with this situation, I asked that they change my breakfast on the 2nd day for dinner, but the answer we received was a resounding NO. We felt that this was very unkind because nobody wanted to solve this situation for us. I had to talk to several hotel employees about this until they finally agreed to give us packed breakfast the day we left early, to our surprise they gave us only 1 sandwich and 1 apple each. No drink or anything else. Everything very simple. 3. They recommended a taxi driver to take us to see the city, they said he didn't work at the hotel (a lie, he does work at the hotel). His name is Miguel de la Rosa. This gentleman charged us $110 to take us to 5 places that are on the same route to the Pacific (Old Town, Canal Museum, Biomuseo, Amador Islands and the Canal locks) and offered us to be our tour guide. Even there the cost seemed a bit high to us but we agreed for everything he offered us. Actually we could only go to 4 of the 5 places offered, Biomuseo was closed. He wasn't friendly at all, in fact he was a little rude and impatient. He was not a tourist guide as he said at the beginning, he left us alone in the places, he only gave us a few indications of what to do, and he gave us an hour to return to the place where he left us. He gave us little information about each place, we had to ask him what this or that was and sometimes he answered us in a very rude way. If you don't have patience with tourists who come with children then you shouldn't offer for that or you should work in something else. As if this were not enough, he charged us an additional $20 upon arrival at the hotel. This was because we went to a Shopping Center that was on the return route, that one took an hour, the same as it would have taken us to go to the Biomuseo if it had been open. We felt cheated because he didn't tell us anything about that when we made that stop but until the end he told us that he charged us more for that reason. If you go to Panama, better travel in UBER, they charge much less and the taxi drivers are kinder.…
