LOVE Martin House Inn. Many thanks to gorgeous Lisa who does an amazing job making Martin House an experience. Fabulous baked goods for breakfast and wine & cheese on the deck in the afternoon. Refreshing lemon/orange water served daily and a home cooked cookie or cake each afternoon. Martin House is a home away from home and Lisa is the...

It's well located. We booked room 33. It was very small although adequate. We had a shared bathroom and that worked out OK. Everything was very clean. It was nice sitting on the balcony and there were good views from the roof top. Breakfast was excellent with a big bowl of fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, toast, cereals freshly baked scones...

This is a charming inn within walking distance of most things you are interested in doing. It is clean, comfortable, convenient, but most importantly has a wonderful innkeeper, Lisa. She goes above & beyond to see that all your needs are met & that you are having an enjoyable visit. She thinks of things before you do that will enhance...

My boyfriend and I booked a room Friday-Sunday. Friday night we were welcomed to the Inn with a wine and cheese social with Lisa and the other guests - a highlight of my weekend! We all sat, talked, and laughed for hours; it was such a comfortable, enjoyable environment. Then my boyfriend and I had a very short walk to...

I visit Nantucket often and had never heard of the Martin House Inn. The reason we booked here was that it was one of the few places that offered a two night stay during Wine Fest. (Most places had a three night minimum). It is charming, historic, with pretty basic accommodations, but comfortable. It's one of the more affordable places...

We were on Nantucket for 3 days and 2 nights and we chose The Martin House Inn. We highly recommend and will stay here again if and when we return. Lisa was such an awesome inn keeper. She went above and beyond to make our stay all we expected and more. She is a wonderful chef and our breakfast each...

Just spent 2 nights at the Martin House Inn with 4 50-something women. Lisa had great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Our room, #2, was spacious for the 4 of us. Great breakfast with homemade bread, scones and granola. Wine and cheese at 5 and fresh cookies mid day. We used a Living Social voucher, but...

This was our third visit at the Inn. Our room was comfortable and the Inn is well maintained. The main parlor is so inviting and quiet that we spent a good portion of our time curled up with the fireplace roaring and a good book. The Inn Keeper, Lisa is always attentive to her guests needs and we enjoyed many...

This house is adorable. The innkeeper was very pleasant and helpful to deal with. The wifi did not work despite claims i was the only one ever to have problems. Our room was very well decorated and spacious . No tv or refridge but that adds to the charm Unfortunately we stayed 2 nights and I didn't sleep the first...

I try to take a mini-vacation once every month or so to restore my sanity and tranquility. This means I am looking for an out-of-the-way "retreat" where I can enjoy some solitude and peace. When an offer came from LivingSocial for a 2 night stay at this lovely inn on Nantucket in December I was hooked! Nantucket in the off-season is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our spacious accommodations blend the convenience and comforts of today with the romance and nostalgia of the past. Built in 1803 by a sea captain for his bride and recently restored to a gracious old-world elegance, the inn combines the charm and romance of a bygone era with all the comforts of home. With its many comfortable gathering areas, its fireplaces, the luxury of its rooms, its peaceful veranda caressed by light breezes and the sound of classical music, and of course its spacious roof walk offering panoramic views of the town and the harbor, the Martin House is a place that beckons you to return. We serve a bountiful continental breakfast prepared by our pastry chef, featuring her famous homemade granola and scones, another pastry, cereals, fruit, juices, gourmet coffee and tea, each morning. In the afternoon, we serve homemade treats. In the heart of Nantucket’s historic district, the inn is just a short walk from all the shops, beaches and restaurants in town. 13 rooms, air conditioning, free wireless internet; many guest rooms with working fireplaces. ... more   less
