You would think with the amount you pay a night, they would treat you better. It's in need of updating, rooms and attitudes. The amenities they offer sound appealing, but it's just an illusion. I'm sure you can find something worth your money on the island.

Nestled on a spit of land on Nantucket, The Wauwinet is a sea-captain's home morphed into a luxury retreat. From its famous Topper's restaurant with its world-class wine cellar, to its expansive lawn for croquet over afternoon cocktails - The Wauwinet is a bubble of solitude on a very exclusive island.

Have been coming to Nantucket for years and stayed here a long time ago. This is a wonderful place with wonderful books etc. I would really enjoy it if I had two weeks of quiet time to walk along the shore and especially curl up and escape in some good books. I love Nantucket but I prefer being in town...

Booked A Garden View Room at $1,000.00 a day and RECEIVED a lovely view of WHITE AWNING COVERING the entire Terrace Dining Room. I like awnings. Usually for shade ABOVE my head. THAT was our only view. Of course "we are fully booked" ..."Nothing else to offer" We should have high tailed it out of there BECAUSE that evening we...

We just wrapped up our third stay at this beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere, and have already nailed down our booking for next year. The inn sits on a narrow strip of land astride two bodies of water (bay and ocean), A favorite activity for us busy New Yorkers was just walking up and down both beaches, soaking...

This review is only about the Spa at the Wauwinet not the hotel. My parents have been vacationing in Nantucket for more than 30 years, so when my mother’s 70th birthday fell on our vacation, I immediately thought of The Wauwinet as the perfect place to stage her birthday gift. Now, I am by no means wealthy - but I...

Very grand staff somewhat condescending, food not worth the price Waygu Beef arrived cold obviously left on the side and as for the "Banana's Foster" desert the only resemblance to the original was a hint of banana overall.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
THE WAUWINET is situated in between the Atlantic Ocean and Nantucket Bay, The Wauwinet is the island's only Relais & Châteaux hotel. An adults-only escape, it is the stuff of storybook romance. Its grounds are beautifully landscaped, with unmatched views and access to two beaches - one on the ocean and one on the bay. The 33-room inn is a study in luxe comfort, from Pratesi linens to antique furnishings and private sundecks. TOPPER'S, its New American cuisine restaurant, is consistently ranked one of the top in New England. A continual recipient of Wine Spectator's "Grand Award," the restaurant features over 1,400 American and international wine vintages. Guests who want a casual open-air lunch can linger on TOPPER's Deck before ambling out to the beach for sunbathing, a little fishing, or a boat trip.
