Hotel La Catedral was a a very nice, beautifully appointed hotel, close to central park and within walking distance of many of Antiqua's sites. We felt well cared for, safe, friendly staff, good breakfast. Relatively small with beautiful little garden, roof top tables. We would stay there again without hesitation. Not inexpensive, but good value.

The hotel is just a block from the main square, which made it convenient to walk to the church on the square and local businesses. The facilities are just as described and as shown in the photos. The open central garden is beautiful and facility decor made us feel like we were living in the midst of Antigua's history. The...

The location couldn't be better. One block from the central park so you can walk to and from all the popular spots after dark safely or easily return to the hotel during the day. The rooms were of a decent size, clean and with relatively hot water. It is a small hotel, I doubt if there are more than 6...

We spent one night in this nice little hotel. I was unsure how many people were there, but it was not too many. We had a very nice room with a king sized bed just off the patio. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was quite well adorned with updated fixtures and a very good shower. About 9 PM...

Located just one block from the Central Plaza, this hotel is very well located. The hotel is small but that is the beauty of it. The room have the old fashion look of Antigua. They also have their own parking which is very important in Antigua. The staff is the best, they treat us great!!

This hotel has a beautiful little courtyard and the rooms are very comfortable. Avoid room 9 as it is adjacent to both the bar and entrance from carpark so it is very noisy. The staff were very helpful

You enter from the street through a wrought iron gate into an enchanted garden staffed by people who are warm, welcoming and attentive to your every need. Hotel La Catedral is the perfect companion to La Antigua herself. More than once, in our 7 day stay, this colonial jewel reminded me of the fabled village of Brigadoon, the enchanted community...

The hotel was perfectly located, with friendly staff, clean and all for a reasonabe rate. We had 3 rooms and couldn't have asked for more. They made a small rate error when checking us in (overcharged us from what our booking.com rate should have been), that went completly unnoticed by me, but upon check-out they notified me of the error...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel La Catedral is an authentic Spanish Colonial house, originally built as part of the "Palacio de los Capitanes Generales" in the center of Antigua, Guatemala. Its construction began in 1558. The space was rebuilt in 1754 and it was used as the residence of the General Capitan. The hotel is located one block from the Central Park and the Cathedral (Catedral de Santiago). It is within a minute or two walking distance from many restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and Spanish Colonial ruins. As one of the original structures in Antigua, Hotel La Catedral preserves its charm and elegance and it has been completely restored to bring you all the comfort and rest you're looking for during your stay. It has a very cozy and romantic environment, just like Antigua itself. The hotel has 8 rooms with a King Size bed or with two Full Size beds. Each room individually decorated to give you a slightly different feel each time you visit us. All of them are equipped with Flat Panel TV set, DVD Player, Cable TV, Security Box, Wireless Internet (at no additional cost), telephone and alarm clock.
