Volcano view, beautiful interior. But terrible cousine. It looked like seabass had spent 10 years in the freezer. And bread was baked last week. But prices are high and tip is included in advance. Wasted money.
We loved our stay at the Posada. The pool , restaurant and most importantly room were all really good. The hotel is right at the end of a road in Panajachal and from it's back gates you get access lake atitlan. Staff were all very friendly and the place was super clean. The pool was hardly used and has a really cool slide which we used ! Bar service for drinks was there. One thing to note is that food and drink is quite expensive there, as it's a really touristy area, but the quality is good. Breakfast there is lots of choice of made to order foods with fruit or juices. Waitress staff English wasnt great, but we made it work ! They were very patient and attentive. The rooms were a good size with 2 x double beds in and a lake view which was stunning. We were going to do our laundry there but it was a little expensive (as per above) Cant fault this hotel for anything really, would highly recommend if in the area. We stayed 8th to 10th of March…
We arrived early morning in Antigua and made a first walk through this truly beautiful city. We came across the hotel and walked in to see the courtyard. A charming lady from the reception welcomed us and offered to show us the hotel. We stayed for breakfast booked a room and returned for a real stay two days later. A fine room was ready for us and we finished a three month journey at this outstanding place. Regretfully I do not remember the name of the charming lady but have add a photo. Travel at its best, and a perfect place to end magic journey.
We didn't stay at the hotel property, but stopped here for lunch while in Antigua for the day. Tortillas were made by hand in front of us, and we had perhaps the best meal of our entire two week trip here!
Amazingly beautiful hotel-- 400+ years old, but nice rooms. Check out the picture of the keys-- 400 year old locks too. Food was very good (fresh tortillas handmade every morning on-site). Bar is really strange. Only potential downside-- you'd better love a HARD mattress.
