Yes, location and price are important, but a hotel needs more than that to merit better than 'average' on a review -and this place does not have it.
The room was small and not especially clean. The only real amenity is a functioning AC unit....More
Located right inside Diocletian palace, Sobe “Base” rooms enjoys one of the best locations in Split. Rooms are simple but clean & have free wifi & Internet Terminal. The staircase risers are a bit steep – but with the Jupiter’s temple on one side &...More

if you can get to the small carpark just outside the Riva you can pull up and the owner will come and show you where to park. We didn't manage to do this but found free on street parking in a side street just past the marina and it was then about 10 minute walk to bass rooms. We went up past the port and followed the road back around towards the market and the parking in the red bays was free over the weekend. it's quite expensive in the week though.
