I was so happy that my wife booked this hotel. It is a few minutes walk to the city Centre. Excellent service. The owner, Dimitar, provided us with very detailed and accurate information on what to see, restaurants for our consideration and how to get to those places. He kept his promise of a good Bulgarian breakfast. It was delicious... More

With its painted ceilings and antique furniture, this lovely little boutique hotel is both charming and comfortable. The owner, Dimitar, speaks very good English and helped advise us on everything from where to eat, what to see and directions when we were leaving. It is perfectly placed at the foot of the old town. A great first stop on our... More

Despite a poor mattress and optional hairdryer this a pleasant and relaxing hotel right on the edge of the old town. Breakfast is very good so for the price I doubt that there are better options available. Book early as there are only 5 rooms.

Perfect location on the edge of the old town with facility to park the car right in front of the hotel. Renovated in traditional Bulgarian style, we had a massive room, very clean and comfortable. The owner was super welcoming and friendly and as we were only there for one night that was great so we could make best use... More

We were only able to stay at the Renaissance for three nights, but it was an excellent small hotel. The owner is welcoming, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly with excellent English. His entire staff emulates his great attitude. The room was fine, the bed comfortable (though they did have footboards, a bit of a problem for my 6'1" frame!), and everything... More

I stayed here one night last month with my husband. Usually I book hotels when we travel but this time I left it to our guide and I'm happy that I did so. The hotel is very pleasant and in a central but quiet location. Mitka, the owner, was most attentive to service and to detail. The decor was attractive,... More

This is a wonderful little hotel ideally situated near some of the main attractions in Plovdiv (Roman theatre, Roman stadium remains, Glass museum, Ethnographic museum to name a few) as well as close to the main shopping city centre. Rooms are wonderfully decorated in Bulgarian style and has a luxury feel to it. Also fitted with airconditioning. The hotel owner's... More

We could park right outside the front door. The (designated green) room was spotless although a brighter light bulb (led?) would be good. Impeccable bathroom and excellent shower. Breakfast was top quality -great coffee! Ideal location for looking round Plovdiv, We could only be there for 1night- I would happily have stayed a fortnight! Friendly (English speaking) owner who went... More

Not so happy with the rooms, it needs bit refurbishing, very dull and needs a bit of light.maybe a tea coffee maker in the room, room did not look inviting. Bathroom bit cramped. Breakfast needs bit innovation. Thought people and staff very friendly and helpful. Location very good.

The location couldn't be more central, the room spacious and clean. But it's the friendly proprietor, whose English is fluent, who goes out of his way to make you feel like family. Home cooked breakfast, reams of advice on sightseeing and dining, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere make the Renaissance hands-down your first choice.
