We have spent 2 nights in Rupar Mandalar, and the environemtn is absolutely beautiful. The teak wood furniture, floors, terraces are very well looked after, extremely clean and the service is also very poliet. The restaurant offers a puppet and dance show along with dinner which is also veryinteresting. The swimming pool is seemingly clean and in a veray nice,... More

While the rooms were really large and nice and well put together, the rest of the hotel has no soul. The hallways are lit in a very bright fluorescent light that makes you feel as if you are walking through a hospital and the common areas are not nearly as interesting or comfortable as the rooms. This hotel is a... More

Arriving earlier than check-in time, a room was found and a warm welcome given. The room was spacious, very comfortable and beautifully panelled and furnished with teak. Powerful air-concontinues even when out...the room was wonderfully cool after a hot sticky day sight-seeing. A big bath and large shower in a spacious bathroom with copious toiletries. The attentive staff bring additional... More

A good hotel rooms are great except for the spread of light switches which confuses. Not sure why there is a trend to glass walled bathrooms these days though. It means using the light affects the whole room Food is good but stick to Asian they don't quite get the western style of cooking. But why go to Myanmar for... More

We arrived at Rupar Mandalar and were greeted with a cold beverage and friendly smiles. Our room was spacious, made of all teak wood and had a nice porch out front. The bed was covered in a pretty floral design. Things we loved about this hotel - Puppet show at night in the garden restaurant - Big, warm pool to... More

I can't say anything negative about the place. The rooms were very large, beautifully done, impeccable. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the pool was perfect. Breakfast was a buffet with high quality and the dinners were very good with great entertainment.

Restaurant main course poor. Room attractive, but lacking some amenities, notably bedside light and flat surfaces in bathroom. Otherwise very good indeed. The staff were friendly and obliging and efficient. On balance, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Very enjoyable boutique hotel with beautifully finished teak rooms. Like the free drinks voucher they give you for each nights stay. At dinner they have a nightly show as well. Had an issue with my air-con and the staff quickly moved me to a new room. Area was relatively quiet. Dinner and breakfast were fine.

We deliberated for several days over Mandalay hotels --whether to stay at Mandalay hill, this one, or somewhere else. Finally, we chose this resort, as we prefer smaller hotels. It did not disappoint. The grounds and pool area were well-maintained. Service was attentive and professional. I swam laps in the late evening and always found a beach towel placed near... More

The gardens, restaurants, bar and pool areas were very beautifully done, an Asian oasis. The room was very large and luxurious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was good, as was breakfast which was served, not buffet style. Its far from the center of the city, so you won't have much choice but to stay... More
