Stayed here for two nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Air con was good. Shower was decent. One drawback is that you have to knock on the front door to get back in at night. For the price this guest house is in a good location.

We stayed at the ThanaBoun Guesthouse for 3 nights whilst travelling. The guesthouse is made up of what looks like two interlinked French colonial villas, with a little courtyard in between. We could not have been happier - the room was very clean and comfortable, and the guesthouse is perfectly located near the quaint little restaurants and shops. The staff... More

TripAdvisor should allow for zero stars, since this place really deserves it. We rented a scooter here and upon returning it, the rude, disrespectful and angry receptionist informed us they "accidentally gave us too much change when renting" and forced us to pay more. They had my passport hostage so not much choice here. When renting the same scooter again... More

After reading the other reviews I am wondering if we are on the same "page". I found the room to be quite comfortable, clean and in a great location. We hired a motor scooter for 3 days from them and had no problems what so ever. I had no problems and therefor can recommend them.

We stayed there for a couple of nights and everything was ok ,until we actually got KICKED OUT by the unfriendly receptionist, shortly after our friends had already changed accomodation, after getting into a very intense arguement with the absolutely rude and agressive manager before(They had been requested to pay the additional fee for the AC option they ordered in adcance, even though... Such a bad manager and experience at this "guesthouse" that we actually considered just leaving Laos all together ! When the fan in the room broke all we got was "Money, money, money !!" barked at us for an air conditioner, even though the room was not suitable for use without some sort of fan ! He was unable to... More

There are so many rules and regulations it's the most unwelcome I've felt in any guest house and I've been traveling on the road in south east Asia for 5 months now. We had no power for 8 hrs during one day with no explanation and when we had an issue with our room and the response from the owner... More

The owner and two young male staff at reception are VERY unfriendly and only interested in money transactions - "you pay you pay..." repeatedly barked at you. The Internet is terrible - the most illogical 'log in' system that continuously logs itself out and if using the computers you have to pay extra!! Even tho the rooms are VERY expensive... More

The manager Sai took my money for a rental motorcycle and did not provide it when I asked for it despite the fact that I had the receipt. They are thieves, they are only interested in ripping off tourists, I am reporting them to the police. Very bad experience, I feel like leaving Luang Prabang straight away, it ruined my... More

This place ticked all the boxes! Great bed, air con, fan, large room, on the Main Street so easy to get to everything. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with. Bathroom was the best we've had on our trip so far.
