This is an excuse for a hotel, from the careless reception to the no service breakfast to the lack of interest by owner who has another hotel in Vang Vieng that cannot possibly be as bad as the No Charm Mekong Charm. You could not pay us to stay there again!!! The young men who sleep in the reception must...

We originally booked into Kinnaly G H but left having stayed only 1 night. Please take time to read that review. Here we had room number 1 which had a balcony overlooking the Mekong. It was about $9 less than Kinnaly and the room was almost double the size at about 25m. It was a little dark but then it...

Beig in Vientiane we tried to book a Riverview hotel, but as it was fully booked we got a room with balcony at Mekong Charm Guesthouse. The whole bulding is wooden and like many other places it is shoes of before entering. Our room was medium sized, a bit dark due to teakwood etc. Bathroom ok - average. We had...

Unfortunately this hotel did not honor the reservation we made for a deluxe room with balcony. We were bluntly told the previous guests decided to stay longer and therefore the room was no longer available. Instead we were given a (sub)standard room behind the reception with no working air conditioning and a window looking out on a wall. To make...

Booked this through HOTELS.COM. Do not use Hotels.com, repeat, do not use Hotels.com. Booked this hotel for 7 nights with hotels.com and my credit card was charged. When we arrived the hotel was shuttered and no representatives were present. Door was unlocked so we walked in. No guests present, every room empty and no hotel staff present. Vendors on the...

Initial impression was very positive. Lovely exterior, great common area room downstairs and lovely terrace looking over the Mekong. $50 seemed to be excellent value - which maybe it was. The room was nice - all dark teak-wood - but the bathroom was a complete disaster. Bath / shower design was a joke - nowhere to stand up. Both the...

We found this little guesthouse by chance and stayed for 4 nights. We really enjoyed the view from our balcony - we could see the Mekong from our bed! Ask for room 103 which has windows on 2 sides. :-) Staff was just perfect, very clean, 1 min from That Xieng Thong. Very good value for the money.

Never wanted to give a bad review. In 5 months of travelling, TripAdvisor has served me well on both Hotels and Hostels. However, for the life of me I can't understand how this establishment is rated so highly. I had booked last minute, wanting to spend New Years out of a hostel and with a double bed. At 70$/night I...

The Mekong Charm Guesthouse has the potential to be so much better than it was when we stayed there in Dec-14. It has nice views of the Mekong River, but the guesthouse itself has lost some of its “charm”. Our room had the following issues: - the floor was dirty, - the duna cover was dirty and had clearly not...

We stayed there for a few days and had no major complaints about anything. The owner and staff are friendly though at times language was a problem. We had a deluxe room overlooking the Mekong and that was worth it. Typical of the country, the bathroom was basic, the bed was hard as blazes, but still not The hardest in...
