Duk the proprietor is kind and welcoming. He will go out of his way to meet your needs. Vilayvanh is definitely inexpensive- we paid US$15 a night during high season. Rooms on the first floor, which begin with the #2, are small, adequate for two people. Here's what you can expect: 2 twin beds, a desk and stool next to a...

This was a real find! Cheap rooms with own bathroom, tv & aircon ($12) very close to Hive, laulau & Utopia and only a 10 minute walk to the night market. The staff are just lovely & so warm & friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend or return to Vilayvang guest house.

We stayed here twice it was that good, Once heading north and once heading to the Thai border. The manager and staff were warm, friendly, helpful and made you feel at home.Free coffee, tea, bananas and water refills. The rooms were clean, everything worked and it felt like you were getting excellent value for money in a slightly more expensive part...

Upon the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were greeted with warm smiles and the feeling of home. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. Our room was spacious, 2 twin beds, hot shower, had windows on 2 sides of the room and equipped with a small desk and armoire to hang clothes. The location is excellent with...

We felt lucky when they had a vacancy at VV Guesthouse. We crossed the threshold and the Manager, Duk, greeted us warmly by saying ‘..this is now your home.’ He was very sincere and the moment we entered, the whole staff watched out for us and made sure we were happy; Duk, his assistant, and even the cleaning lady. Nothing...

Stayed here for a week in Mar 2012 for 120,000 Kip a night. The guesthouse is down a very quiet lane and at night it is silent until the 11.00pm crowd from Utopia straggle home full of happy chatter. The two story building has fantastic wide polished floorboards. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive. Free bananas and coffee always available....

As the others have said - this is an affordable, clean option in beautiful Luang Prabang. My husband walked all over town one day checking out guest houses, and this was the best place he found for the price, hands-down. It's tucked away off a quiet side street, so even though you're only a few minutes from the action, it's...

Vilay Vanh guest house is a comfortable affordable option in Luang Prabang. I paid $13 for a private room but you might be able to bargain this down a little if you tried. The guest house is not right in the heart of Luang Prabang but Luang Prabang is so small that it only take 10-15 minutes to walk to...

Next to Utopia restaurant, Vilay Vanh (check the spelling...?) is an excellent guest house, clean, bathrooms in rooms with Wifi and TVs, free coffe or tea and fruits, attentive staff and some bicycle for rent at only 10,000 kips (other places wanted 15K). Only about 50 meters from a main street but absolutely quiet and there is a curfew in...
