If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of cities and modern devices, look no further Kamu Lodge Experience. I have to call this a hideaway. Far from the city, located in the midst of Laos' jungles, you'll see only the greenery like me. The 3-hour cruise trip on the Mekong River to reach Kamu Lodge was an...

I stayed one night at Kamu Lodge whilst on a Mekong Cruise as part of a holiday with my adult son who is working in Thailand. We both thought it was a wonderful place - beautiful to look at - at night the restaurant and bar look as though they are floating on the rice paddies, with the walkways to...

This is an Eco lodge on the Mekong river about two hours from Luang Prabang. You stay in a tent, albeit a tent with tiled floor! Excellent solar powered accommodation with comfortable bed and an adequate shower. We stayed one night and the evening meal and breakfast were good. There is a local village close by which is interesting to...

This is a stunning location but.... We felt the food was the worst we had eaten in SE Asia. The attention to detail was very poor and it didn't make the best of its Eco credentials. Stinky bathrooms. The tents were ok but one had mould under the bed covers and the other had holes. We like the quiet in...

Sometimes it is just the accommodation that is special. This whole experience from boarding the boat, the trip up the Mekong, the history of the Kamu people and walking through the village to appreciate their way of life was also great. Accommodation was comfortable and the food was typical of the region and enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience.

We spent one night here I really wish we had booked for 2 nights. The boat trip along the mekong river was spectacular. When we arrived at Kamu lodge we were welcomed with a drink and shown to our tents which are amazing and comfortable. The food was delicious and very well presented. After our evening meal the local children...

I was a bit apprehensive about exploring Laos for the first time, especially since the trip was going to be with my dad and we don’t really see things eye to eye. I didn’t know that we were going to stay at this eco friendly retreat lodge. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with my dad there...

Beautiful trip up the Mekong will lead you to this gorgeous place. When I got there i couldn't believe my eyes. The room is a very well done tent with a wood and brick built toilet. You have to keep in mind that u are literally in the jungle. So if ur looking for luxury go elsewhere. Although, it l's...

We stayed a night at the Kamu eco-lodge as part of a 3 days/2 nights package on the Luang Say Boat from Thai border to Luang Prabang/ Laos. Kamu Loge is nicely set-up with roomy and comfy tents on cement platform with beds, mosquito nets and nice solar-heated warm shower. Great creativity with the shower head that doubles as the...

Took the boat trip from Luang Prabang to Kamu Lodge on a cool December morning and arrived to find I was the only one there for two nights. What a treat! Tog Neng, the local manager who is from the Kamu village that adjoins the lodge property was a gem. The tents are luxurious - with comfortable beds, warm comforters...

Sitting along the Mekong River, Kamu Lodge offers the unique opportunity to experience slow travel with accommodation in our spacious "African Safari" tents, each with a private balcony and thatched roofs. Our tents provide all necessary comforts and great river views. Using only solar power energy at the lodge, rooms have lights, fans and each has an en-suite private bathroom with shower facilities. The experience includes boat transfers to and from Luang Prabang. Step back in time visiting and getting to know the people from the neighboring Kamu Ethnic Minority Village. Activities include the chance to learn traditional crafts from the Kamu people of net fishing, gold panning and to learn with a "hands on" opportunity of rice planting and harvesting. We also offer traditional massages that complement the experience. Enjoy al fresco dining at the lodge's rustic restaurant in the middle of the rice fields. We serve Lao specialties, offering lunch, dinner and breakfast included in the package. There is also a well-stocked bar, offering a delicious selection of drinks and refreshments. Kamu Lodge is in Yoi Hai Village, a 2.5-hour boat ride from Luang Prabang, tour includes a stop at the revered Pak Ou Caves.
