Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa is lauded for its attentive service and luxurious lagoon access rooms, although guests advise that food and drink can be costly. While the hotel's cleanliness and diverse amenities, including a private beach and 24/7 lagoon, receive high marks, some visitors note noise issues and suggest that parts of the resort could use an update. The tranquil location offers easy access to local attractions, yet a few guests find it a bit isolated.

This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in! The Resort is beautiful, it’s like staying in Thailand in Dubai! It’s very relaxing and we absolutely loved it!
We stayed for 10 nights in a hotel room in the North Residence, the room was fantastic, it was immaculately clean, serviced twice a day by Laxmi, who made sure we had everything we needed! The room looked as if it had been newly renovated, the decor was lovely and it was one of the most comfortable beds we had slept in, in a hotel! We had a lovely balcony with a fabulous view and we watched the sun go down most nights before we went out for dinner!

While staying in another hotel before Covid on various occasions we had met Jennifer who had looked after us so well we had kept in touch, so I had let her know that we had decided to come and stay at the Anantara, and she made our stay so special, we both had birthdays during the holiday and she made sure we were spoilt, having the room decorated twice and leaving us cake and wine, she checked in on us on a regular basis to make sure we were being looked after and that everything was good! It always was! She is an absolute credit to The Anantara and excellent at her job!

The resort is just beautiful, the lagoons are lovely to have a swim in and the next time we go we would possibly stay in a lagoon room for a change, (however I’m not sure the view from our balcony could be beaten) there are also little inlets around the lagoons between the rooms that have loungers if you fancy a change from the main pool or the beach! We did this one day and it was very peaceful!

The beach is lovely and well maintained, the view on the beach is amazing from seeing the 2 Atlantis hotels, beautiful villas on the Palm fronds and round to the buildings at the marina, there’s always something to look at! The water is so clear you can see all the little fish swimming and it’s a gorgeous colour, we loved spending every day there! My only dislike was, there are quite a lot of birds on the beach, which is fine until people decide to feed them and it’s mayhem as they all swoop around, I have a bird phobia and I had to leave the beach twice. Would be nice if people were encouraged not to feed them, as at the end of the day it’s not good for the wild life they’re not supposed to eat chips!!!!

All the restaurants are fabulous the food is delicious, from Beach House, Mekong, Bushman’s, we ate in them all the food is fantastic and again the staff are very attentive! Breakfast in Cresendo every morning was fab, food very fresh and loads of different things to choose from, it’s never boring!

The Spa is also worth a visit! It’s very peaceful and I had a lovely massage! Also very reasonably priced for Dubai!

We had some lovely cocktails in Lotus Lounge at happy hour from 5pm to 7pm and watched the sunset!

I would also like to give a shout out to Roshan at reception in the north residence, who checked us in and booked all our restaurant reservations and went above and beyond to get us out of Hotel early on the day we were leaving due to a horrendous Thunderstorm! Also Rani in Crescendo and the staff in Lotus lounge!

Finally it was a privilege to be invited to a drinks reception in Lotus Lounge and meet James Hewitson the hotel Manager and Sonia Sammut the Residences Operations Manager!

This is very much a family hotel which is great, but due to the temperatures at this time of year there were a lot of families with small children and babies, a lot of whom were crying a lot of the time, it would be nice to have an adults only section in places and especially on the beach, which has plenty of space!

We will definitely visit The Anantara again!!!! 😊

I booked this hotel for myself, husband and my
4 month old daughter after reading reviews online - all of which rated the hotel so positively.
From the moment we arrived all the staff were so helpful and accommodating - the door staff helping with our bags and the reception staff accommodating our specific requests for a sunny room for the lagoon access (which I would highly recommend).
When we arrived to the room they had provided many baby items - steriliser, changing mat, Cot, and baby bath. I was surprised to see all of these but it was such a lovely touch!
The lagoon access room was amazing, gorgeous large room and bathroom and being able to go into the pool any time of day really was fantastic. The life guards are always so friendly also.
The staff looking after the rooms were so attentive and did not disturb us at all while cleaning our room when we were on the terrace.
We were half board and the choice of food was extensive and always so delicious, it was great to use the al la Carte restaurants around the resort too. Being able to book via WhatsApp was really helpful.
Happy hour at the lotus lounge was a great way to start the evening. Everybody is welcoming of children and this was lovely to see.
I also booked a massage following an offer I saw which was incredible!
Every member of staff we saw around the resort was so happy and it was lovely to chat to many of them.
We will definitely be back and cannot thank you enough for a wonderful stay for our first family holiday!

I have just recently returned from a weeks stay at the Anantara The Palm Resort and if you looking for a relaxing sun filled break I would definitely recommend.

We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and we were roomed in the north residence with a great view of the sea to wake up to every morning which was nice. Room was big and comfortable for family and contained all amenities needed for our stay (large fridge and freezer, microwave, iron/ironing board etc). Housekeeping cleaned the rooms each day and turn down service provided of an evening (kids loved the little chocolates left each night). Nice room good start!

The hotel is quite far from any of the site seeing and days out so if you are planning on visiting the Burj Khalifa, theme parks and water parks keep that in mind taxis cost anywhere between 60 dirhams to 100 each way which can add up over the course of your holiday. Thats not a knock on the hotel but just some information to consider.

The best thing about the Anantara is its staff, in particular the concierges Dee and Sanjar who i could not speak highly enough of, small things like booking food for my family, to printing tickets for activities we had planned they would do with a smile and came across as genuinely nice people who the hotel are lucky to have. We also tended to eat breakfast in the Revo cafe rather than the main food hall and Richard would look after us in there he and his staff were spot on with the kids nothing was a problem for them. All the staff here obviously value their jobs and its projected through their attitude towards the guests.

Overall mainly positives, only negative for us was distance to get about but again thats not the hotels fault. If you want to relax by the pool, eat good food and be treated great by staff Anantara is well worth taking a look at.

Dear Darnee86, Thank you so much for your positive review on TripAdvisor. We are very happy to know that you and your family enjoyed your holidays with us. Many of our guests choose our resort because of the location on Iconic Palm Jumeirah Island which allows for a serene escape from the busy city with wonderful Dubai Skyline views. We have just completed an 8 night break at the Anantara and already want to pencil in the next visit as soon as possible.

On arrival we were immediately made to feel very welcome and check in was informative and efficient. We arrived at 10am and although our room wasn’t ready we were shown to a changing and shower area where we could freshen up. Once we could check into our room (4121), a lagoon view room, we were not disappointed. It was a very good size, very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We were here for our last holiday as a two before our first baby arrives and this was kindly acknowledged by the staff with a gorgeous personalised cake on our first night.

We opted for the half board option and enjoyed the very generous buffet breakfasts and the onsite restaurants. We had a very good choice at all of the restaurants and only a few dishes had supplements. Our favourite restaurant was Mekong and loved chatting to Hanh and May there. One very small comment to make about the al la carte restaurants was that the pacing of the meals was sometimes variable. For example the mains turning up straight after the starter and then having a long gap until dessert or visa versa. We also enjoyed the Fork and Cork Friday brunch which we paid a small supplement for. The choice and variety of drinks was very impressive so definitely get there early to sample everything!

I treated myself to a pregnancy massage one afternoon at the spa and I cannot speak more highly of this. Feli, my therapist, made me feel very comfortable and the massage was absolute bliss. I couldn’t use the wet area due to pregnancy but my husband made use of these facilities and was very impressed.

The staff really make this hotel, everyone was extremely polite and helpful and any requests were always swiftly dealt with. The grounds are beautiful and there were constantly people tending to the gardens and keeping it all looking pristine.

We regularly made use of the gym which had everything in it equipment wise you could think of. The one major issue to report here though was how sweltering hot it always was - everyday it was approx 24 degrees! Cold, iced towels were provided but the temperature made any cardio work extremely difficult.

Most nights we made use of one the happy hours the bars put on. My husband made the most of these, but disappointedly there weren’t any non alcoholic drinks offers included. I do feel this is something that should be considered in the future.

Overall we absolutely loved our stay here and the negatives mentioned above are really just feedback for the management to consider. We definitely hope to return next year with our little one. The hotel was extremely family friendly but equally caters just as well for couples/groups of friends. We can’t recommend it enough. Thank-you the Anantara Dubai.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. We have a lagoon access room which was a decent size. We visited the beach every day and it was quiet enough and offered waters port rental at a reasonable price (for a 5 star hotel). The breakfast was nice enough and the staff were all very helpful. We ate at the beach club and the thai resturant which were both expensive but very good. The problem with the palm is that it is full of 5 star hotels, which offer great places to eat, but at a 5 star price ofcourse. So if you stay here, be prepared to pay £80+ per person for a 3 course meal, or a 25 minute taxi ride in to town. The one thing that cost this place a 5th start, was the house keeping. they knocked on the door at gone 9pm on two occassions and then we could also hear them hoovering and moving furniture around in the room next to us in the middle of the night. There are so many options in Dubai and purely for that reason i would probably try somewhere different next time.

Dear Jack S, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are pleased to know you enjoyed your visit overall. Nonetheless, it is sad to know you left our property partially disappointed. Your feedback about the housekeeping team was well accepted and will be shared with the concerning department for further evaluation and improvements. We are reviewing our prices frequently and will focus on doing the same in the future, as we want to be competitive in the thriving hospitality market in Dubai. We still hope you have some positive memories of our beautiful resort, as it would be our pleasure welcoming you back soon again. Sincerely, Maren Kuehl Hotel Manager

What a wonderful hotel, it was our 2nd stay here and sure it won’t be our last. We arrived on Boxing Day and stayed for 9 nights, we are a family of 7 and had 3 lagoon access rooms which were lovely! The rooms were cleaned every day, bedding changed every other day and clean towels daily, the man who cleaned our room was called Raman and he was absolutely fantastic and did everything perfect, a credit to the hotel. My son had an adapted room as he uses a wheelchair and it was perfect for his needs. Food was amazing, so much choice, 2 members of our family are gluten free and were catered for very well. The New Year’s Eve gala dinner at the crescendo was outstanding and we let 2020 in on the beach watching the firework display across the palm. There are Happy Hours at the pool bar, beach house, lotus lounge and revo cafe all running consecutively, no shortage of sun loungers at the pool and towels are provided. We all had a massage at the spa and it was the best I’ve ever had anywhere, my masseuse was called Kerson, a lovely lady , I would recommend. The bar staff are all so pleasant and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All in all a fabulous hotel great for kids and adults alike and we will definitely return.

We decided to book a staycation after a stressful few months! Here's a quick summary of how we found our stay.

We loved:

The sea / Burj Al Arab view from our room. Although it was a bit hot to sit on the balcony, we enjoyed a cup of tea in the morning, looking out over the Arabian Gulf. Very relaxing and such a beautiful, calming view of Dubai.

The main pool was lovely and not really very busy so we found a quiet corner and people kept a safe distance away. The pool bar was open for food and drinks.

Our reason for choosing this resort over the others on the Palm was the signature restaurant Mekong was open. We had an amazing meal there!

The weather, although summer, felt fine with the sea breeze.

We loved the effort put into the vegetation around the resort. So many beautiful plants and trees, it really felt like a little Thai paradise and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The only thing I could fault the hotel on was the confusion over the pool towels. When we got to the pool we were told they weren't handing out any towels. We then had to walk back to reception and order some towels which was a bit frustrating however they arrived, wrapped up in plastic (for hygiene reasons), five minutes later.

Our room was in the 'residence' side of the hotel. It definitely felt more apartment/residential than 5 star hotel. The room was spacious however didn't feel like a luxurious Anantara resort. The bathroom was clean but just felt basic. It was equipped with refillable shower gel, shampoo and conditioner which was good to see from a sustainability point of view. For any extras such as bathrobes and slippers, we had to request. which made it feel less luxurious than a 5 star hotel.

The room just felt a bit plain and not glamorous however we weren't really in there for any great length of time as spent all day by the pool.

Breakfast was lovely with a la carte and a limited live cooking stations for pancakes and omelets.

Throughout the resort, I must say the staff were brilliant in observing cleanliness and hygiene standards. I saw staff change their gloves, they all wore masks and the resort was very clean with hand sanitizer available everywhere. The bathroom by the pool could have done with cleaning on a more regular basis but on the whole everything was kept very clean and tidy.

We would definitely return but may try a slightly higher room category next time.

We travelled with our 2 adult sons and booked a 2 bedroom apartment in the North Residence, which was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space within the apartment. As you enter the apartment hallway you have a seperate cloakroom on left opening up to the large dining/living room. A kitchen is also attached off the dining room. Either side of the living room you have two large bedrooms ( 1 king and 1 twin) both with ensuite bathroom. Loads of wardrobe space, which is just as well, as my good wife does not travel light even for a weeks holiday. The housekeeping was excellent with the room being cleaned daily with the turn down service also cleaning up. Big balcony outside overlooking downtown Dubai.
I have stayed at many 5 star hotels and this one gave us the best experience yet. For me the staff were exceptional and made the difference.
We travelled everywhere via taxi using the RTA cream taxis which apparently are the best value. It typically cost us about £8 - £10 to get to the marina area and a littel more if going downtown.
We stayed H/B and eat at most of the restuarants. Tip - you have to book a table at the restaurant of choice, so best to do so a night or two before to get your time and choice. You can do this via WhatsApp which was very easy or simply ask reception to book for you.
Lovely holiday, a good combination of a beach and sightseeing holiday.

This is a great place to have a relaxing break, the staff are fantastic as is the resort. We especially enjoyed swimming in the heated lagoons. You will not be disappointed in staying here. The staff are brilliant and the food is also. Even the buffet was good. Breakfasts offer a normal huge choice, with 4 locations where they cook omelettes and crepes. We went half board and found that the 2 meals a day was more than enough. The only negative, if you wish to explore the area, is the location which is at the end of the Palm. If you intent to do so you will need a taxi and there a various companies to use depending on how much you wish to pay. I found RTA to be the best and there is usually one outside the hotel, the drivers know where they are going and they are the cheapest. There are apps you should consider, careem and uber, both are good and not bad price. the most expensive are the taxis linked to the hotel or establishment visited. One firm I didn't like was DTA they are similar to RTA but the times I used them the first drivers got lost finding the Burgh Khalifa!! and I had to show another one where to go on my google maps.

My husband and I have just spent two nights this weekend on a minimoon, celebrating getting married earlier in the month. The lagoon access room is absolutely gorgeous and despite it being the weekend, with the rest of the hotel very busy, it allows you to relax and enjoy the beautiful lagoon which is well maintained. We love the jacuzzi areas around the lagoon. The gardens are very well manicured, creating a sense of being somewhere far from the busy city! The location on the Palm helps too, as it’s away from the main traffic. It’s our second visit this year. A really big thank you to the F&B manager, Giancomo, for outstanding food and service in The Beach House on Thursday, and on Friday night at Mekong! Also his incredible professionalism and kind attention. Seriously amazing food and impeccable service. He’s got tough competition in Dubai but we (and our guests) were delighted with the quality of food at Mekong in particular, on a par with top Asian restaurants in the world.

It’s hard to get the balance right on everything (hotel/rooms/service/food/atmosphere) but this resort has it all and we will be back soon.

Thanks to all the wonderful guest services staff and everyone across the guest experience - we really appreciate it!
