Spend one night at Bab Al Sham with the wife. It was simply perfect. It feels like you are far away from all the work and stress, and simply you enjoy and relax. The staff at Bab Al Sham is outstanding, all works perfect from check in, the greeting, the rooms are amazing, the infinity pools are breath taking. and have a drink at the roof top lounge is the perfect ending on a perfect day
We booked a table for 10 for an Iftar dinner and had the worst customer service experience. The outdoor restaurant, Al Hadheerah used for Iftar has a “second class” extension with cheap furnishing, simple, makeshift buffet setup and absolute zero visibility of the entertainment show. It is sold at the same price and supposedly have the same quality but it doesn’t, it feels like a rip-off. The food selection was ok but not too exciting, the quality was not what we expected from a 5 star resort. It was very average and the beverage selection was very limited. We had discount vouchers and membership discount which were all communicated and confirmed at the booking and upon arrival. At the time of payment we heard 3 different stories from 3 waiters why they will not accept the previously confirmed discount option we had and nobody was able to explain properly. After much discussion we asked to speak with the restaurant manager for clarification. Mr. Watani came to the table and we all wish he didn’t. He was rude, defensive, dismissive to women, did not listen, didn’t let anybody talk…he never once asked us what the issue was. He talked over us with a horrible, aggressive bodylanguage waving his fingers in our faces. Treated us like we were some kind of unruly teenagers and not paying customers of a fancy resort. The issue was never resolved, nor did we get an explanation but he sure did leave the table as rude as he arrived. It was a very disappointing experience especially for the price we paid and the 50 mins drive it took to get there.…
Who ever thought retreating to a hot desert resort would be so relaxing. I must say, I definitely didn't. This was the most amazing experience. Between the beautifully pleasing ascetic views, decor, etc., the friendly and caring staff, and good company, this was another successful getaway. The camel ride, watching the sunset from the rooftop, Iftar meal and show were amazing, property was nice, and again, excellent customer service everywhere. Thank you Kamilya, Linet, Saleh, Wency, Trisha, Kim, Nagy, Boulos, Rolando, and all others.
Not far to drive from Dubai city centre (only half an hour). No many visitors during Ramadan while the restaurant very crowded for Iftar. Best: the room decoration and building architectural are so amazing if you want to explore some Bedouin vibes. Big love for the styles of rooms and furniture. The pool is enjoyable. They sell drinks and food by the pool as well. The Iftar buffet is very good to try. I enjoyed the bbq and the Arabic desserts so much. Although the live show was not that impressive. Also there are some desert activities for customers. It is free to ride a camel and see a falcon. Overall I really appreciate the staying.
We would like to make a special mention to Ali for making our experience at Bab Al Sham so special. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and was highly attentive to all our needs. The safari experience with him was unforgettable! We will definitely be back for more
