I stayed at The Palace hotel with my husband and 10 month old baby daughter in January 2020. The rooms are nicely decorated in a traditional Arabian style. Good size, comfy bed and lovely balcony. The first room we stayed in was a little noisy as it was overlooking the restaurant but after speaking to reception they went out of their way to move us and make sure we were happy! The new room was fabulous with an amazing view of the fountains.
The main entrance and Lounge area is also very nice with a great ‘date and coffee’ expert offering three types of dates with Arabic coffee daily.
Pool was relaxing with a good mix of shade and sun. Decent sun beds. No water given which was a surprise as most hotels of this level normally provide water by the pool. We took room water down with us. 2 mins walk from the souk and 5 mins from the fountain and Dubai mall so great location.
We had a lovely 3 night stay and would definitely come back.

After researching multiple, trustworthy blogs and having traveled an extensive amount myself, I decided to stay at Palace Downtown. I’m going to review location, staff, overall experience. The location is perfect for things that you want to do downtown. It is a 3 minute walk to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and a close drive to the old part of the city to experience Souk life. The fountain light show at night can be seen from the majority of balconies at this hotel. As far as location to the “tallest building in the world” and some of the best shopping And eating in the world, it doesn’t get better then Palace Downtown. As far as the staff, you decide after reading. We arrived at 6 am after traveling much of the night and check in is at 3 pm. We were greeted by Kamal, the kindest, friendliest porter I have ever met. He showed us to the front desk where the receptionist did her best to get us a room early so that we could get rinsed off briefly before hitting our 9 am Burj tour. After a minute or two at her station, Santosh Sharma came out and next thing I know, not only do we have a room available but an upgrade at a very fair price. The receptionist and Santosh the duty manager insured that not only did we get a room, but an upgrade that had an enormous balcony that faced the light show, along with maps, a discount free membership card, free tickets to attractions and directions to the Burj to insure a timely arrival. Kamal, had our bags to us within minutes and had some excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to know about the hotel. He has worked there for 5 years and really takes pride in his job and at the place he works. He knows everything. Most guests seemed to know him and thank him while entering and leaving the hotel. After a long day of sightseeing and shopping we got back to the hotel at 5 pm only to have a ring at our doorbell. Fresh fruit platter and a pillow selection card. That’s right!! Choose your pillow for your best night sleep (lavender, body contour pillow, and many more) to match their amazingly comfortable bed. This hotel has so many extras including an extremely knowledgeable and professional staff. Ps: towels are huge and bath products are great, conditioner that actually detangles long hair. Definitely a MUST STAY IN DUBAI and Rumor has it they may be upgrading the rooms to make them more luxurious.

Palace Downtown was definitely a five star hotel, love the smell as soon as you walk in. I had the room with the fountain views as requested, it was partially obstructed by palm trees otherwise the view was spectacular with view of the burj khalifa. The room was beautifully appointed with nice amenities, bed was heaven!!. The gym was more than adequate for a hotel stay. I had the half board, breakfast buffet was good with a lot of variety to choose from. Loved the strong coffee :) All the staff at the hotel were wonderful, helpful and friendly especially the ones at the buffet. The Thai (Triptara) and Argentinian (Asado) restaurants were great both with views of the fountain and burj khalifa. Excellent location as it is next to dubai mall, great for those who like to shop. This is also where u find the entrance to burj khalifa, a must do! got a ticket to floor 148 which gets u VIP pass (shorter line to elevator). cheaper tickets to lower 124/125, even higher to 154. tickets prices also varies on time, best to get ticket before sunset as one can see the city with light then at nighttime when city is lit up, tickets will be pricier during this time but i think worth it.
So can't say enough about Noushi for Rayna Tours who's at the travel/tour desk at the Palace hotel, he made all the arrangements for the week i was at dubai, he did an amazing job! couldn't Thank him enough! He arranged my 1/2 day city tour with Ali, premium desert tour - which was so much fun with Mohammed who was the driver for the dune bashing, amaaaazzing driver, so so Much Fun!!! this included short camel ride, night show and dinner at the desert camp. I also did the dune buggy ride which was extra $$, also fun. Noushi made sure to remind me everyday times for my daily activities, what i needed to bring etc, he also arranged for my abu dhabi tour for which he made sure i had my covid PCR done for this tour. he also confirmed my return ride to the airport even though i had obtained it through emirates vacation. Noushi was awesome, highly recommend him!! He also hooked me up with Joy Bautista and Rohan at the gold souk, recommend their store as this area is a bit overwhelming.
This hotel was compliant with all the covid protocols, all the staff wore mask even though they are vaccinated, silverware were all packaged (thinking of all these plastic waste :( anyway felt safe plus i'm vaccinated so was not worried at all. hopefully soon they will let up on all these mask wearing for those that are vaccinated.

The Palace Downtown was absolutely stunning! A perfect blend of the Arabian feel with modern amenities. Nothing beats the view of the Dubai fountains and the Burg Khalifa from the pool and Thiptara restaurant. Food was delicious and the concierge was very accommodating in helping us arrange our desert safari and other local attractions. Prices were reasonable for the centralized location in the heart of downtown; walking distance right off our porch to the Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and several well renowned restaurants. Couldn’t have picked a better spot for the first part of our trip spent exploring the city before moving beachside for the next few days.

Check in staff was excellent. Gave us a room with a fountain view. The noise that came from the viewing deck next to our room was extremely loud. The manager and staff tried to find us a new room and showed us a couple of options but the noise from the shopping festival across the lake was even worse. There were no drinking glasses in the room. when they did bring glasses the were not matching glasses, old and scratched. Carpets need cleaning as well as the wood and paintings on the wall . Very few plug points to charge iPhones and computers. Bed was old and extremely soft. Will not stay at this hotel again.

It couldn’t have got any better for us as a team in this hotel. The hotel’s housekeeping staff or the chef’s and administrative staff tirelessly worked thru out to give us so much comfort. All the online shopping deliveries were delivered to our rooms & food deliveries at times, gym facilities just for us during these difficult times, unbelievable. Special mentions to Madhushan Rajan, Bir & Irumporiyan, Jaffer, Sourav and others for all their extraordinary support. Would love to come back again with family for a short stay the next time around.
Palace downtown is a great choice for travellers. Do not look around for other options. 👍

Location is definitely 5 stars.
Hotel itself not 5 stars.
Great views of fountain and Burj Khalifa.
Previously Stayed at Atlantis The Palm and Jumeira Beach Hotel in Dubai.
Breakfast spread not that great compared to Atlantis.
Rooms and room service menu is exceptionally over priced for no good reason.
Swimming pool is tiny compared to other larger properties In Dubai.
Housekeeping and maintenance needs to be improved.
Rooms as are not soundproof.
Good satellite tv choice.
Construction on the opposite side of the hotel throughout the night so do not expect a peaceful nights rest.
Every morning we where asked to leave breakfast area as they are expecting a large group for lunch.
Again, due to its location in downtown Dubai this hotel is graded as 5 stars.
Maniram and Ruel in breakfast room was very helpful as we where a family group of 18 returning from Umrah.
Linked to Souk Al Bahar and Dubai Mall.
If purely visiting for shopping at Dubai mall then this is the hotel to stay.
Value for money in terms of resort feel then choose Jumeirah Beach Hotel or Atlantis.

Our cruise was diverted due to coronavirus and we landed in Dubai at the end rather than Singapore. We chose the Palace Downtown based on photos, rate and reviews. It exceeded ALL expectations. There can not POSSIBLY be a better location in Dubai if you want to visit the Mall or view the Burj Kalifa. Spectacular service! Everyone was wonderful, but Aziz constantly went above and beyond. He recommended restaurants, made sure we knew how to get places and treated us to some wonderful experiences we didn’t even know to ask for. The whole stay was awesome!

This is the second time I am staying at this hotel and I must say I had a hard time on this stay with everything going on around the hotel.
The hotel itself is great if you want to be very close to Dubai Mall but this also makes things very difficult if you want to have a quiet night or late morning. There is construction all around the hotel, and the Dubai Mall Fountain plays loud music with bangs a couple times every hour.
The rooms and breakfast is very nice but next time I want to stay near downtown I would rather stay somewhere a little more quiet and take a 5 minute taxi drive if I need to go to Dubai Mall. There are so many great options in Dubai that at this point in time Palace Downtown is too noisy to be staying at.

The service there is top-notch, and I’m sure if you’re staying with them and your room isn’t ready, they’ll let you use the pool! You don’t need a key to access the pool. They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect—trust me! I recommend asking for Hussein, who is at the Rayna travel desk at the hotel every day. He’s a godsend. We used them for all our excursions, and he was literally our personal assistant at no extra cost! It’s amazing there—I can’t say enough. I’ve traveled the world, and the customer service at the Downtown Palace tops it all.
You can leave your suitcases at the hotel. Staff are very accommodating and it won't be a problem. I would then go straight to the Mall which is right next to the hotel. Make note of the entrance number as the place is huge and easy to forget where you came in. Lots of eating places there and things to see in the Mall. Have a very happy birthday
We could see 2/3 of the fontain. It is worth :)
