We stayed for a week while our son was working at NOAA. The location was lovely and quiet. The cabin was spotless and Heidi and Dustin were welcoming and gracious. Loved the rowboat! It is on a small pond with lily pads and swans. Nice fire pits. caught up on a lot of sleep!

I was visiting from Long Island for a family reunion. I drove in a corolla. No room for camping gear. I stumbled on this place looking for places to stay. I didn't need to bring anything other than what I normally would going to a motel. I rented a Camper for the weekend, bought groceries in Alpena. Everything was provided. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, even a coffee maker. They have many cabins with private docks and boats, motors are available to rent. Just bring your clothes toiletries and bath towels.

The location was wonderful - cabin right on the water with a dock, row boat and gorgeous sunsets. Each cabin has a fire pit, picnic table and chairs. Cabin is basic with 2 bedrooms that have full-size beds, bathroom with shower, living/kitching/dining combo with full-size refrigerator, microwave and counter-top 2-burner gas cooking. A futon for a couch and a small dining table with an antique rocker in this small area. Windows that look out onto the water and when open you can hear the geese floating by. The beds were a little soft for my liking, but all was very clean. The owners take pride in this property and it shows in the well-maintained grounds. They live on-site and are there for you if you need anything. The property also has an area with playground equipment, a fish-cleaning station and benches or swings scattered all around. Ask for a life jacket if you're planning to go out on the row boat, they are kept in a outbuilding. Family oriented fishing/boating resort that is close to drive into Alpena for stores or restaurants. We will come back!

The location was the selling point of this place--with a rowing boat included in the price.
Each cabin has its own fire pit and chairs and the area is wooded which adds to the tranquility of the place. The cabins are clean, with a kitchen, utensils and a table. There is no television.
The beds were adequate but a little too soft for me. The pillows were uncomfortable so bringing your own pillow is advised.
The view from our cabin was very picturesque.
All in all, this place is great value for money.

We come here every year. My fiancé's parents have been coming here for a very very long time. The cabins each have a dock that are really nice and maintained. My fiancé and me have stayed in several different cabins and they are all nice. There are refrigerators in every one and some sort of cooking appliance, whether it be a small gas stove or a propane counter top burner. They have pans and plates and silverware for you to use. There is space for tents and they have nice facilities for the people that stay in tents. These cabins sit on Lake Winyah. This is the only place we fish. There is northern pike, bass, walleye, panfish. Something for everyone. If your really really lucky you could catch a Muskie.
