We really enjoyed are weekend at Campers Cove. We had an RV spot by the beach. It was nice, but make sure you bring enough leveling blocks. Ground is soft by the water. Make sure you take the speed bump slow too. 😬 The staff was all very friendly.

Camped here for 2 nights with a group of friends. Stayed in a cabin first night. Cabins are very nice with a double bed, and a bunk bed with a single and double underneath. Screen on cabin door was torn, so mosquitoes could get in. Didn't have a problem with them though. Only got bit 3 times.Slept in cabin first night because of possible thunderstorms. Second night, slept in tent. Had site right on lake. It got vey cold and I froze all night. They have a vey nice gift shop with a lot of different items. If you forget something, you can get it there for a reasonable price. We went on a nice pontoon boat ride on Lake Winyah. Saw swans and loons. Didn't see or smell any skunks in campground or raccoons. The only drawbacks were 2 large barking dogs almost continuously overnight, and no one did a thing so as not to annoy other campers. Staff did not enforce rules about quiet hours. The only nice, real bathroom was at the office building, All the others were outhouses and port a potties. A lot of kids riding bikes around, and running around unsupervised.

My husband and I stayed at Camper's Cove for two days and rented their fifth wheel camper. The staff were all friendly and great during our stay. They accommodated my request for a water location. The camper was clean (but mattresses & seating very worn). We were shown how to operate everything in the camper and the staff was very helpful in adjusting the camper so that it was level to our liking even though that meant getting out the tractor and muscling it around a bit. The friendly, accommodating staff is the reason for 4 stars instead of fewer. Unfortunately, the area where we camped was near the dock and either the water there or the close proximity of the dump station gave off a strong odor that was almost unbearable. It was most apparent when we noticed that smell long after we were on our way to our next stop of our vacation!!! Driving with the windows open and stopping at a laundromat to clean linens & clothes before continuing our journey solved the problem, though. We met many "regulars" though so the smell might have been a fluke or due to the side of the water we were on. We may give it another chance, but my husband said we'd have to get there first and "smell" before making a commitment...

Get your fire wood down the road it’s cheaper and burns better. Dump station was full when we went to leave. Lady in office was very dismissive of helping. Very disappointed, never was able to dump water.

My husband and I could not be happier with our stay. Mark, the owner and his friendly, helpful and accommodating staff were just amazing. The bathhouse, showers, bathrooms were clean. Even with a full campground the grounds were clean, no trash, lots of happy kids. Can’t wait to come here again. It’s on the shores of the Thunder Bay River. - Naturally lots of geese and the poop that goes with it , but over all this is a great family friendly place to stay.

I love that all the sites are on the water. The indoor pool, stocked store, putt putt and other scheduled activities for the children make it a must do for our family! There are also banana bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats to keep everyone busy.

My wife and I spent the 4th of July weekend there or we attempted to. The place seemed pretty clean and organized, rates were comparable to other campgrounds, but then night came. The neighbors next to us were regulars every year and acted like they owned the place partying loud until 230am. The policy stated quiet time after 11pm and the owners home was throwing distance a crossed from them. The owners did nothing about it. They finally turned things down after I yelled at them. Come the next night they as well as other campers near by started lighting fireworks right by our site and vehicle some of which almost lighting nearby tents on fire. They let there kids light them too as well as swim in supervised all day. A couple hours of the war zone my wife was heading to the bathroom, who happens to be pregnant as well, and a mortor firework goes off 5 feet away hitting her with sparks and pieces and defining her. We leave to call the owners and all she can say is they have until 11pm to light fireworks! No concern for my wife or the potential lawsuit she could have had if she was permanently injured. She claimed to have spoken to our neighbors but 11pm came and went still no quiet and neighbors partying like nothing happened. Fireworks still goimg etc we packed up in the dark and left. This was 12am and we had a 4 hour drive home. I was hopeful this would be a good campground, staff and ecperience but the unprofessional way this bad situation was handled I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. No refund or compensation was offered from the owner. She basically wanted me off the phone as soon as possible.

Many full time/seasonal campers here who have a lot of stuff surrounding their site making the campground look dumpy. Grass sites that were muddy and some were flooded. Our pull thru was long enough but very uneven. Sad looking picnic table and fire ring. Can rent boats, game room, heated pool and store. Cable and wi-fi. Campground needs some TLC, cleanup and updating.

Owning an RV Park in Arizona, we understand first hand what it takes to operate a park. First and foremost, Mark and Judy, the owners get high marks from us. Here's the scoop, we stayed seven nights. So, we experienced a packed week-end (Father's Day). And everything, including power, water and internet did just fine. Mark has been with the Fire Department (for many years) and works his butt off when here. Water quality is always an issue at parks, 'well folks' they spend extra to insure good water for you with a high volume water softener and full park chlorinator. When we made the reservation to stay, we promptly got an email confirmation. Today, they just installed new washing/dryers. You can rent boats, indoor swimming pool, good fishing, rent bikes, canoes, on week-ends they have a tractor pull wagon for kids and much more. Here's the good news, they are much better then a KOA or Jelly Stone Park with no road or train noise. Bottom line, if RV'ng is in your blood and you want to spend time with family and friends - this is the 'real deal'. Bottom line, I tell it like it is.

Real nice
Allowed us to choose a site. Ended up with large corner lot on lake. Everything clean and quiet. Friendly staff. Great evening listening to the geese around the campfire watching the sun set on the water. Great place to be!!
