Stayed here at the Alpena resorts and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and tidy, the beds were very comfortable. The shower has great water pressure. Definitely will stay here again.

I have stayed at this location at least a dozen times at the property formally known as the Best Western. Staff is always very accommodating to your special needs. Rooms are clean, they still have a wonderful breakfast bar. Rates are reasonable.

We are repeat guests and once again, a five star experience. We always rent 2 rooms; one for us and the other for teens. Both rooms were spotless. We travel a lot and this is the cleanest hotel ever. The staff is super friendly and prices are reasonable. They allow pets, which we appreciate since we always travel with our little dog. A nice barbecue area under gazebo with seating. The area was closed for the winter but a nice asset for the warmer months. Comfortable beds and pillows. Some rooms have an outside entrance. Appreciate the addition of lawn chairs outside the doors for those of us who can’t get a signal on their cell phone inside the building. Clean indoor pool and hot tub. We love this place! We visit the area often and Alpena Resorts is our home away from home when we are in the area.

We loved this hotel! Very clean, comfortable room, good water pressure in the shower. We were told before we booked that they were very short-staffed, but Eric was quick to help us when needed and the housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again

Our room was roomy enough for 2 adults, 3 teenagers. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. Eric at the front desk was especially welcoming and friendly, gave the impression he really cares about the place. Gazebo, grills, and backyard games were the best—gave us a relaxing evening to “eat in” and play around together outside. We would definitely come here again.

We travel a lot for hockey tournaments and this was probably one of the best experiences we have had at a hotel. The 2 gentlemen on staff were SO friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The pool area is large and there is a great spot to grill out right outside. I'd definitely stay here again!

This was the worst “hotel” experience we have ever had. There is massive construction going on in the hallways and no mention on the website or at the front desk at check in. We had a rare night out without kids and made the most of it and were looking forward to sleeping in and instead we were woken up by sawing, drilling, hammering etc. right on the other side of our hotel room. Had we been advised at check in we would have left for another hotel. I went to speak with Wendy at the front counter and she laughed and said they just started today and they’d been waiting 2 years for this construction. I asked why we weren’t advised and she said they just found out they were coming the night before. So tell them the rooms are rented and that won’t work!! The hallway was a complete mess, construction material everywhere - not safe at all. We were unable to sleep (or hear ourselves think) with all the noise, so we’re showering to leave and while my husband was in the shower a worker put and nail through a wire and the power went out in the bathroom. I went to speak with Wendy about a refund and she offered me $10 off. I said that was not acceptable and she got the owner from the back who was incredibly rude to me. I explained we paid for a good nights sleep and he said that’s what we got. I said not even close. He offered the same $10 for the “inconvenience” of the screw going through the wire. I told him to keep it. Do not stay here. Zero customer service. Zero care about the quality of your stay. So rude.

I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. When you checked in your husband was told that our contractors would be working the following morning to resume renovations on the corridors. At that time if you were concerned about any noise, we would have very gladly cancelled your reservation WITHOUT CHARGING YOU FOR THE CANCELLATION! There is never a good time at a motel to do reservations, but it must be done to keep the property up to date.

Awful management. Rude and mean! They accused me of having my kids swim in the pool when I was by my self and always had been. They yelled at me and thew me out of the facility. They did it even check cameras to make sure or listen to me at all. No one should stay there. They have too many rules and are nasty to their customers!

Angela, When you checked in for your stay with us you inquired about having your husband and all your children come in the following evening to use the pool and hot tub. You were told twice that if you rented a room big enough to accommodate your family (heads in beds) that we would absolutely love to have them. We ONLY have liability insurance on REGISTERED GUESTS! You opted not to do this, but did it any way!

Another great stay! We stayed 3 nights and look forward to our next visit in November. We always book two rooms (one for us and one for our teens) and both rooms were super clean. This is the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The staff (Eric, Robin, Housekeepers and one of the owners) are always friendly and welcoming. We met one of the owners at the pool. It was fun talking with him. We love the warmer pool and hope they consider making it a permanent change. We used the workout room once a day and they have quality equipment. Maybe because we have stayed here so many times, it feels like home and we always look forward to our next visit.

Pleasantly surprised on how nice the rooms are. It was modern with updated fixtures and very clean. The staff was courteous. No breakfast due to staffing shortages, but there was fresh coffee and juices available. The price was also very reasonable (90 per night). This will be our place to stay when we visit Alpena.
Note: We could not get the online reservation site to work. Give them a call instead.
