This was our fourth visit to Watervale Inn, and it never fails to relax us and take us back to a simpler time! The cottages are rented by the week during the summer season (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend), and it's a short walk to the Inn for morning breakfasts and evening dinners. Or no walk if you...

The hospitality was very welcoming. Excellent view of I believe herring lake from the patio along with a patio right on the water was very relaxing. A 1 minute walk to lake Michigan was also please where my friends and I were able to enjoy kick back and have a few beers talking about the days race. I will be...

My seventh summer stay at Watervale was nearly perfect (the flat tire cost a half day of sheer bliss)! The scenery, weather, ambience, pace, staff, guests, food, etc., etc., etc....is absolutely out of a period movie or book! If you & your family are fortunate enough to return to Watervale for your second, third, fourth & more visits, then you...

Simply marvelous! We loved our trip to Watervale over the Memorial Day weekend. The cottage (Ursala) was delightful. The food was superior! The service great and the amenities (Lower Herring Lake, Lake Michigan, sand dunes, kayaks, tennis, shuffleboard, etc.) were simply superb! One of the best places we have ever, EVER, stayed. As a child, I used to visit Watervale...

I almost don't want to tell people how special the Watervale Inn is. It is already hard enough to get a room or a house! This is one of the most special places I have every stayed. Lower Herring Lake is picture perfect, and the Lake Michigan beach could be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The...

Watervale comprises a group of cottages and an Inn (where I stayed) in northern Michigan, across from Lower Herring Lake and very close to a giant and gorgeous swath of Lake Michigan sand and stones. It has everything you need for a relaxing, away-from-it-all vacation - clean (if tiny - we slept in a standard double bed) rooms, a beautiful...

My brother who grew up in California where I still live now lives in Ann Arbor. When we get together as a family it is often in Michigan and the Watervale Inn is a convenient choice, we have been there three times. It is most peasant with meals morning and evening and excellent walks along the coast of Lake Michigan...

Families have come here for years and it is easy to see why. The area is beautiful, the cottages are adorable, the Inn is quaint and charming, they have a great dining room and well prepared food. Staff and folks who come are friendly and there is a lot of things to do in the area. Fun day trips, or...
