Detailed Reviews
Spent one night in order to attend an event with friends in the area. Was very pleased with the extremely clean & comfortable room I was given. (I’ve stayed at plenty of 4-star hotels that weren’t this clean. )The bare floors were a bit cold (it was pretty cold outside) but I brought my slippers so cold feet were not a problem.
Front desk staff was friendly & efficient & their little dog was absolutely adorable! So homey for the proprietors to have their small friendly dog in the lobby (not allowed in breakfast area.)
Basic breakfast was good (bagels, yogurt, fruit, etc) but coffee was better at the new coffee shop down the street.
Room was pretty basic —no closet, no tub (shower stall) no coffee maker, microwave or fridge, but just the basics was all I needed. Cable TV was easy to use with great picture.
Highly recommend—hope I get the opportunity to stay here again.

We were in Au Gres for my mothers funeral in December. Wonderful people and very nice rooms. My brother booked his room at the other hotel in town and very quickly canceled and stayed At Edmonds. This is my new place to stay when visiting Au Gres.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodations were at the Edmonds Au Gres Inn after knowing that for years my brother and Dad said it was just for fishing guys (was under different ownership). It smelled new and was beautiful and clean. We stayed with our 5 children in the suite and it was wonderful. 1 Queen and 2 Full beds, plus plenty of space for moving around and a pack and play. Would definitely stay there again.

Horrible. Stopped here because my baby needed a rest from our road trip. Lights were on in the main lobby, door was open and there was a sign at the front desk to say "if not at front desk then call this number." I called the number to reach a rude person that said they don't accept reservations after 11 pm. What? It was 11:20pm you've got to be kidding me. I have three kids in the car, a baby that was hungry. I asked for a room rate, he told me, I then asked if I could dial him right back. I wanted to consult with my daughter, as she was nervous to stay anywhere like this. We were sitting outside the motel ready to check in. The phone conversation basically ended because he said that we should continue chugging down the road and mumbled something else and litterly hung up on me! I've never in my time traveling had this happen.
This motel does NOT want business and you could tell. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know what happened.
No open gas stations for an hour. My screaming baby.
Shame on you. It wasn't like 2 am, it was a few minutes past your "time" you had no flex? What about putting a sign at the front desk that says we don't take reservations after 11pm. Turn of your vacancy light. Geez.
Terrible place. 0 stars but Google makes you put 1 by default.

The bathroom was very tiny, door rubs tiny toilet, sink tiny no room for toothpaste or toothbrush. No micro wave or refrig. TV cut out continuously.
Beds very uncomfortable.
High price rooms with nothing in them. At 10:00 pm we went out with my nephew to smoke & owner accused us of arguing & fighting. We were all happy & talking & he said he will kick us out if he hears another word. He was very rude. Continental breakfast lacked variety

Be ready at 6:30 am to be fully awake. The folks upstairs get up early and so will you. Every step they take, every thing they drop, every chair they move…you will hear it. Nice looking room but not very functional. No place to lay your suitcase open, the sink is in the room, not the bathroom. No tub, only small shower. Door to bathroom couldn’t shut due to warping. I hate to sound negative, but maybe it should be rated a 2.

My daughter was getting married and we booked the entire motel for our guests and met with the owners to confirm arrangements several times over six months for the dates surrounding the wedding. About 60 days before the wedding, we met with Mrs. Edmonds one last time and were informed that she had booked another wedding for the dates we wanted. We were shocked and dismayed to say the least, especially when we later learned that the new wedding party was her relative. Don't trust these people.

Just wanted to say what a great place to stay in Au Gres. It is not the Harbor Inn (closed), but now the Au Gres Inn...newly remodeled and the owners, K.J. and Kristin Edmonds are great folks. My husband and I spent the 4th of July weekend there and visited with family. The room was spacious, nice wood floors (no carpet) and comfortable king bed. We were on the bottom floor and there was a lot of foot traffic in the room above us on the second floor each morning (that was our only complaint). There is a small breakfast room for a continental breakfast and if they don't have something they will get it for you. Again, great folks! We recommend the Au Gres Inn if your looking for a nice place to stay. We will definitely stay there again.

The former Harbor Inn in Au Gres is now the Edmonds Au Gres Inn. I stayed there from Oct.25-27 for my daughters wedding. The new owners have done a great job of renovating this place.Everything is all new. They completly gutted the inside and I was surprised when I first entered my room,it had a new home smell to it and everything was brand new!!!! I would recommend this Inn because not only was the place clean but I got a chance to visit with the owners wife and I told her how I was pleased with everything!!! I told her I will come back for sure next summer !!!

Regretfully there's not a single review with a 2013 date which does not provide the new owners the benefit of the doubt. Instead it's 2012 and prior with more "poor" and "terrible" reviews than otherwise which isn't a proper (or fair) reflection on the updated property.
You can tell that the new family owners are trying to improve the place. Areas remain under construction but this had little visible and no audible (fortunately) impact on our stay.
The room was fresh and clean, the bed and tv new, and the bathrooms recently refreshed with new tile and walk in shower. I did not try the free wifi so I can't comment on that. The only room negative was that there was not a closet, instead a wall hangar to hang clothes from on the side wall.
With three weddings in town the place was full but it didn't feel crowded. There was a nice sense of community as we hung outside a bit with strangers at first who became acquaintances.
