5 Night Wilderness Adventure Packing Trip was my Mother's Day gift. Sherry and Erwin Clark (owners) took care of all the details. Sherry picked me up at the airport, eliminating the need for a rental car. The staff at the Lodge was welcoming. Private bedroom and bathroom were clean and very comfortable. The family style meals were delicious and plentiful....

I did a 3 days horseback ride in Beaverhead mountain a couple of weeks ago, staying one night in the lodge and 2 outside in the campground. It was an amazing experience. Beautiful landscape, breathtaking views and amazing horses and organization. Erwin and Sherry are fantastic hosts, Erwin is such a nice guy, he has a lot of experience, he...

When I scheduled the Pioneer Pack Trip with Broken Arrow, I was extremely excited, but the truth is that I had no idea how amazing the experience would truly be. First, the location is phenomenal. Miles from town and down a gravel road through Beaverhead National Forest, winding through mountains and past cattle farms, the lodge sits just above the...

My husband and I spent an unforgettable week at the Broken Arrow Lodge. Nothing is fancy, but it's all really good: riding every day on good horses in gorgeous country; eating the best home cooking; hanging out on the front porch watching the hummingbirds; fishing for trout in the pond and on the Ruby River; going to the county fair...

I did not grow up with horses—or even a goldfish, for that matter, and I am a city girl whose idea of a perilous adventure has long been driving from Philadelphia to Washington, DC, as a child to visit an aunt and an uncle in a car which also held another relative smoking a noxious cigar. And yet, this year...

My wife and I have always had inner-cowpersons despite the disbelief and sometimes disdain that seeps out of our now grown children whenever a hoof or horn shows itself. Nonetheless, we’ve wanted to ride something passing for the range ever since it became clear that Dale and Roy and Gene were wearing neon cowboy shirts in those black and white...

I just returned from a horseback riding pack trip hosted by Broken Arrow Lodge and Outfitters. The homey atmosphere, terrific food, and willingness to accommodate my interests made this a perfect get-away. I spent time in both the lodge and up at the ground camp, where we still had hot meals, wood-stoves in the tent, and great riding through the...

I've been to Broken Arrow ten years in a row. The combination of wonderful hosts, breathtaking scenery, an abundance of animals, and unlimited riding keep me returning every year. Plus the cost compared to other dude ranches is hard to beat. Every year, I'm tempted to try another riding experience, but then I weigh the factors involved in selecting a...

Breathtaking views, good home cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere makes this a perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful Montana mountains. Irwin and Sherry are wonderful people that will accomodate any type of horseback riding experience you are looking for. The rides were thrilling and filled with beautiful scenery and wildlife, much more than we expected as...
