This is a really cute authentic Hostal on Isla Del Sol. All the staff we met are lovely and it has the feel of a family run hostal. Our corner double room with a view of the lake was spacious and clean. The hostal is only a couple of mins walk to local restaurants. On our last day the hostal...

The owner was ignorant and rude. The bed was lovely but the bathrooms were awful. We tried to order food and she ignored us for 15 minutes (only people in the restaurant) and when we ordered she walked off and didn't return for a further ten minutes. Needless to say We left without eating. Don't take a backpack with you...

On Isla del Sol, and especially in the south, almost everyone is calling for you, trying to sell their goods or rooms. The island is very dependent on tourism, and money changes people. But not in this hostel. The owners might appear a bit introvert/distant/(rude?!) at first -they're not the type that will socialise much with their guests spontaneously- but...

We stayed two nights on Isla del Sol, this hostel had a comparatively better bed than our first night but there's no hot water for a shower. From what I gather, this is pretty common on the island. Wifi is good in the restaurant area. There is a good Pizzaria restaurant about 200m down hill, the second one on the...

We had this gem recommended by some other travelers!! Absolutely stunning views from the rooms and restaurant, clean rooms and shared bathroom, delightful and welcoming hostess, home-cooked style meals!! Couldn't have enjoyed our stay here more, and would definitely recommend it too!

After reading bad reviews, I wasn't convinced about staying here but after getting to the island we checked it out and although it is basic, the price is great! (40bob a night) The lady running the hostel was extremely sweet and helpful and makes a good breakfast for an extra 20bob. With so many hostels on the island I wasn't...

Reading the reviews they tend to flip-flop between good and bad. We felt the woman running the place was quite judgmental and peculiar, if she likes you, all is fine, if not, well than it's not up to HI standards. Nice place nevertheless.

My girlfriend and I stayed overnight here on our visit to Isla del Sol. The rooms are basic but have to be considered in the context of the island. Hot water easier to get in the evenings, the rooms can get cold at night and there are no plugs. But they are clean, have private bathrooms, and views of the...

This hostel appears to have the best marketing, with a website and trading off the Hosteling International brand. The location is good, high up on the ridge with a nice garden. The rooms are clean and bathrooms acceptable. The showers don't work so we were encouraged to wash in the lake. It appears that the owner has left his mother...

Stayed here for two nights. The room was fine, very basic (only beds in the room) but I didn't like the fact we could only lock our room from the outside, so couldn't lock it at night. The view was lovely. You don't need to book a hostel before arriving, as there are loads in the island, especially in Yumuni....
