The Marriott is located at the Northwestern edge of Santa Cruz, 13km from the airport. The hotel was built in 2017 and offers 172 rooms over 19 floors. Furnishings and decoration provide a comfortable atmosphere. Service is helpful and friendly.

We were upgraded to a spacious junior suite at the 18th floor. The nicely furnished and decorated room had desk & chair, large TV and an excellent king size bed. We had a separate sitting room with bench, desk, Nespresso coffee facility, fridge, large TV, wardrobe, and safe & ironing facility. We had a separate spacious bathroom with washbasin, toilet & large shower. Windows can’t be opened. You have to rely on air-conditioning. Complimentary mineral water, and good Wi-Fi. All was very clean.

At floor 19 you find club lounge with coffee & soft drinks 24/7 and at 18:00 a buffet & drinks. The buffet breakfast at floor 4 is good, with eggs made to order. The Marriott Santa Cruz is a very comfortable hotel, and we had a good stay. Recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Checking out early tomorrow morning and wanted to write this review promptly.
This has to be one of the nicest Marriotts I have stayed at in quite a while. Had a corner room on the 14th floor - great room, very modern and clean with a nice view. Huge lobby! Outdoor Pool area was on the 4th floor along with the restaurant and large fitness center. Nice to enjoy breakfast or coffee by the pool!
The staff here is fantastic! The women that worked behind the checkin counter were so friendly and helpful and very patient with my limited Spanish lol ( I’m sorry that I forgot their names).
We dined at the restaurant frequently for dinner and the food was amazing! Great service, too. The waiter Albinio and waitress Helen were extremely friendly and always greeted us warmly. For breakfast their is a nice buffet in the restaurant as well as a cooked to order breakfast. Don’t hesitate to make this Marriott your first choice when visiting Santa Cruz - you won’t be disappointed!

Our previous visit in Feb 2023 was in-transit overnight before an early flight to Buenos Aires ( a short night !) so we wanted more time to enjoy Santa Cruz after our time on the Altiplano in Sucre. This hotel is in the NW district along with most other hotels, including Los Tajibos where we'd stayed last year. As you'd expect, it is a modern first class hotel with all the services and amenities, including a terrace pool on the 4th floor and a gym. This is adjacent to the restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, where we ate on our first and last evening. Typically huge portions and excellent value. Very good service. Buffet breakfast offered a huge range of fruits, cereals, eggs and cooked food, breads and tasty pastries. Our room was on the 10th floor (approx 170 rooms in total), was very spacious and comfortable with a coffee/tea machine and overlooked the extensive forests across the main circular road. The ground floor has a bar and lounge seating, ideal for business meetings. Taxi to/from airport was 70 Bs and about 30 minutes. We visited the famous Ventura Mall (just 3 blocks away/10 minutes walk) and took a taxi to Plaza 24 September and the historic centre of the city (about 30 Bs.) We also found a number of nearby restaurants, really just behind the hotel, and would highly recommend Chalet La Suisse (first class/fine dining) and Mediterraneo Cafe y Tapas (informal bistro). Thank you Marriott for a first class experience and comfortable stay.

I was not as impressed as other guests who provided reviews. The Marriott is a modern, anonymous city hotel. My room was fine. Strangely no shelves to put clothes on. There was a long desk area. The hotel provided in the room one bottle of drinking water and i had to buy a second bottle. Surprised that in the bathroom the amenities were the old-fashioned small disposable bottles not the refillable more environmentally friendly containers that many hotels are switching to (i am shaving off one star for this) and there was no liquid soap. For two days the water in the bathroom was at best lukewarm in both the shower and the sink. The breakfast buffet was ok with nice fresh fruit.

Response from Marriott Hotels, Owner at Marriott Santa Cruz De La Sierra Hotel
Responded 18 Sept 2024
Dear Mr. MikeBirdman, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry that your stay did not quite live up to your expectations, but we really appreciate you sharing your feedback. We have noted your concerns regarding the room setup, amenities, and lukewarm water, and we are taking steps to improve these areas. Additionally, we are incorporating more sustainable options for our bathroom products, as you suggested, and adapting to the market and trends towards sustainable hotels. We are glad you enjoyed the fresh fruit at breakfast, though we are sorry the rest of the experience fell short. We hope to welcome you again in the future and provide a more enjoyable stay. Sincerely. Marriott Team.

First and the foremost i have stayed here almost every time i visit SCZ and you can check that in last 2 years i have been here more than 5 times. Every single time i have to deal with some or the other things. Dont want to talk about the past but i am writing this review within less than 1 hour of my check in. Its 5 am in the morning when i tried to check in but thanks to the reception guy Joshua who has no idea how a Marriott works. First being a loyal returning guest, the car they sent me to airport was in bad shape, it made me felt like the car will break on the way to hotel. Even after paying premium is this how Marriott caters their customers?

Secondly when i checked in Joshou was not welcoming. I specially asked for higher floor and city view which he first told me that the entire hotel is full and he only has room on 8th floor. Note that the hotel has 22 floors in total. After some waiting he gave me 16th floor and i was ok taking it and going to the room because i had a red eye flight. took all my bags and surprisingly this marriott does not have a bell boy. Fine no problem. I went to room and saw the room was not what i asked. I again went down to ask for the correct room that i request, he argued that the room he gave me was city view and pool facing. I thought he might have made mistake so took another key card and checked in but the room was again not what i had asked for. lastly i called marriott mexico who handles this hotel and they told me to call me back tomorrow morning. This is the third time the guy gave me room saying its city view but he had no idea which room is city and which is forest. Infact he didnt even know the room that is city facing has also pool view. It was a harrasment that i had to deal with the reception guy who was infact dressed so lousie and had not a slightest smile or repent on his face about what he did.

I definitely suggest people to not check in if they see this guy because he has no idea what he is doing sitting as the only receptionist in a hotel like Marrirott. Needless to say this review is also being sent to Marriott mexico and i have copied front desk manage and hotel manager in this review.

Mr. Arpitdshah, thank you for your words. I appreciate your time and your willingness to give us these comments. They are very important to us and know that we will take the time to create and specialize in it to improve mainly the experience of you and our guests. Both myself and my team are sorry for that perception and no offense intended, it has allowed us to improve. The transportation service provider was made aware of the situation and regrets what happened as well. I thank you and appreciate your intention to speak with you in person. We remain attentive to any request. Best Regards.

We stayed 4 nights over Easter and were delighted with the hotel. For 110 USD I think it is difficult to find in South America a hotel with an outdoor pool, a good gym, spacious rooms and included buffet breakfast valued at 20 USD per person. The staff is very friendly and the food is top-notch.

The Hotel Marriott Santa Cruz, is a very well located hotel in the area of restaurants, shops, cinema and supermarkets, near Equipetrol (north of the city).

From the first moment I felt the cordiality and concern of the staff for making my stay exceptional.

Very comfortable and spacious room. All very clean and practically new. I had a beautiful view of Urubó from the 16th floor.

It has a swimming pool on the 4th floor, along with SPA. unfortunately the poolside bar was under renovation.

Breakfast is buffet type, very complete, with juices, fruits, breads, yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc. and is served between 6:30h and 10:30h

I had the opportunity to have dinner, and the dishes very tasty and varied. Again the service was excellent.

In short, my stay was excellent and I would come back every time

Santa Cruz is like taking a trip back to the 1990's. This hotel stands out as a modern refuge in the city. Good for business and solo travel, not many activities for family other than a small pool area. Good wifi speed and extensive list of latinamerican, italian, spanish, brazilian tv stations and a couple of english language channels ( some like HBO dubbed in spanish). Gives the impression there isn't a lot of english speaking tourists. No option for checkout in the tv menu, most interaction has to be done in person at the desk or through the Marriott app. Nice breakfast area and taxi cabs always available although they seem to overcharge you vs getting a cab on the street. Walking distance to Hipermaxi supermarket and pharmacy if you need to make a quick run to stock up in your room.

Lovely stay we had here.
Once we entered the hotel a nice pafume smell surrounded us.
Superb staff - very helpful, guided us to where to eat and what to see, where to go.
A big plus Mr. Sebastian - he is a treasure to have for us guest.
The rooms are sparkling clean and of big size.
We had a fantastic view over the pool and the city.
Sleeping quality was excellent as well as the breakfast was plentiful and good.
We would love to return in future.
P.S. shopping malls and restaurants around the area and to the city around 20 min drive by Uber.
We felt very safe and good here.
Very well cared for by all the staff - even the nice gentleman who received us at the door and helped us with our baggage.
Excellent team to welcome guest.
Thank you for having us 🙏❤️
