San Miguelito is one of the most densely populated areas for jaguars in Bolivia. While being surrounded by nature enjoy viewing the variety of wildlife on our eco-trail treks checking camera traps, bird watching, canoe trips, horse back ride or a night around the campfire. Our guest lodge was built in 1965 and has 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms next to a 7 meter viewing platform for star gazing.

This is definitely an authentic experience. The itinerary for the visit is full of active and unique activities that from day one leave you breathless. Duston and his team have created an amazing environment full of nature, education, and health. The views, the people, the peace soften your soul every step of the way. I loved San Miguelito and it will be forever in my heart as I myself continue my own conservation efforts.

San Miguelito is a beautiful and unique estate. Duston and Anai are excellent hosts, delivering personalized outings with knowledgeable information to back them up.

We watched the sunset on a hill slope with our backs to rocky cliffs. At some point, bats came flying over our heads in huge numbers. Both the surroundings and the swarming were wonderful.

If you love nature and the outdoors, you will really enjoy San Miguelito. Even the rides on the back of the pickup were a treat!!

It’s a one of a kind, unique experience I will never forget. Duston and the staff of the ranch did everything and beyond to let us enjoy the beautiful nature, wildlife and hospitality of Bolivia at its best. And staying at the ranch is a great way to support the conservation project.

Thank you!! Keep up the good work guys! And those caipirinhas at the campfire by night were the best :)

I always felt safe and accompanied. The conversation was so enjoyable that I didn't realize what I was learning and the pleasure of knowing more. When we arrived the staff welcomed us very attentively. The excursions are planned down to the smallest details, the house is very cozy and has good facilities, the food is abundant and very delicious. There is community integration, and a COMMITMENT to the conservation of the natural habitat for animals. They know a lot Dust, Anai, Nicolas Elena, Flavio, Marco and Mary are so attentive, that I recommend it to people of all ages. I am 64 years old and I went with my 26-year-old son.

We had an absolutely incredible time with Dustin at san Miguelito ranch. Caring for the buffaloes in the early morning, safaris in the day, watching millions of bats leaving the cliffs for their evening feeding, and searching for caiman on the river with torches in the evening. It was truly and adventure. The house itself was a beautiful place to relax with astonishing views and great food. We felt very welcome and looked after during our stay. Thanks again and sorry for the very late review!!

Beautiful family run water buffalo ranch with jaguar conservation reserve. Dustin the owner was welcoming and excited to share all his knowledge from milking water buffalo to making water buffalo Mozerella cheese and yogurt. Plenty of challenging hikes through the forests in sunshine, rain and the dark. Dustin has in-depth knowledge of the hundreds of birds spotted and large mammals. Went fishing (ate fish that we caught), horseback riding, jeep rides and hiking to the hill country to watch hundreds of bats fly out at dusk. Amazing food and desserts prepared by a fantastic cook. Accomodations were excellent.

Also had fantastic guide Nicolas who is a biologist and has great knowledge of the birds, mammals and plants in the area.

The combination of Dustin, Nicolas, the cowboys and the cooks made for a WONDERFUL experience.

we were travelling for 5 weeks and every time someone asks us what the highlight of the trip was we say the safari in san Miguelito. Everyone was so nice and made sure we had a good time and they really made an effort for us to see as much animals as possible. Good food, nice place and of course the animals we were able to see were just amazing 🐆
wish we could've stayed longer but we will probably come back :)

We booked a tour with Nick’s adventures to the San Miguelito Jaguar conservation ranch. The contact with Nick was very good and he replied very swiftly to our questions, also questions unrelated to this tour but for travel and covid requirements in Bolivia at this moment.

At the start of the tour we were picked up by the owner of the ranch, Duston Larsen. A very easy going guy with lots of passion for the ranch and the surroundings. Our 3 days stay was fully packed with lots and lots of activities. These activities are not fixed on forehand but you can decide what you want and Duston makes it epic. During our stay we saw a lot of animals although we were told that it is way harder to spot them in rainy season. The staff on the ranch and the cooks were really great. The accommodation is clean and beautifully situated with great views over the jungle.

We really did have an amazing time and we couldn’t recommend this tour enough. A more thorough description of the tour doesn’t do it justice, you really have to experience it. Although Duston wasn’t able to catch a gator with his bare hands we are still giving him 5 stars.

San Miguelito is a paradise. Beautiful landscapes, flora, and fauna are everywhere, coexisting peacefully, with incredible activities to enjoy and learn about conservation. The service we received was completely personalized, with spectacular attention from Duston and those who work at San Miguelito. The house is very beautiful and comfortable and enjoying a caipirinha in front of the fire at the end of the day was just awesome. The food was amazing. Duston and everyone worked hard to ensure we had a memorable stay, and we value that immensely. It was definitely the best experience we had while traveling through Santa Cruz. We already want to go back.

San Miguelito is a true paradise and a haven for jaguars and other wildlife as the camera trap photos show. Stunning and unique landscapes, fun activities, and impeccable hospitality. Not only Anai and Duston are conservation pioneers in Bolivia but they are also superhosts and so generous! Food is amazing and every detail of my stay was perfectly coordinated. I can't wait to be back!
