Since we booked last minute in high season we had to stay in 3 different hotels. They were all similarly priced but the others were no comparison to vendaval. May well be the best hotel in this price range (or of all) in town. Staff were great. Rooms were great. 5 stars!
'Vendaval' has much going for it: great location directly in the center of cool, little P. Natales, stylish touches and a great (windy!) rooftop hangout, classy & comfortable rooms (if a bit small). Breakfast was a little disappointing and the price feels a little high for what you get, but all said a good choice in Natales.
This is a VERY reasonably priced hotel, and for what we paid we were very happy. Oscar and his staff could not do enough for us and were ready to help us plan and organize our activities, find a restaurant or suggest something to do in the area that we didn’t know about. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with great beds. The rooms weren’t overly big, but we stayed a total of 7 nights and did not feel crowded. The bar on the top floor made some of the best Pisco Sours around (we rated them all over Chile!) and provided a beautiful setting and view. I would not hesitate to return to Hotel Vendaval.
The front desk people were exceptional. We were able to leave our bags there while we spent 5 days backpacking in Torre del Paine - no small favor. The bags were waiting in our room on arrival. Our room was quiet, stylish and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful - the best coffee we had in a hotel in South America.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Vendaval on our way into town one night before completing the O trek in Torres del Paine National Park and one night after the trek. Both experiences were excellent and our best on the trip so far. The staff is incredibly helpful, showing us to our rooms, keeping our extra suitcases for over a week at no charge, even helping us make a dinner reservation the night we returned just by emailing them that day. The beds are so comfortable and we were looking forward to returning to them while camping! The breakfast starts at 6 so we had enough time to grab a quick bite before getting into a taxi to the bus station for a 7am bus into the park. The view is also excellent and location is very convenient for restaurants and grocery shopping. I highly recommend staying here if coming through Puerto Natales either as a stopping off point or stay!…
