Trip Advisor review, Remy Garden Hotel I booked two nights stay at Remy’s in December when my wife, one year old daughter and I were travelling in China. We paid 1200RMB for 2 nights (£120), which is quite a lot. We decided to book at this particular place because it had some good reviews. Unfortunately it most certainly did not...

This is a long overdue review to thank our hosts once again for sharing their home with us. A B&B-style hotel probably converted from a former concession villa, the well-maintained place has a charm of its own. It is run by a European-Chinese couple who has a daughter the same age as ours and they made every effort to ensure...

First, the service provided by Wendy, at reception was excellent. She arranged a tulou tour for us and made sure we had her personal number in case of problems. She also got a discounted rate for us. The other staff were nice and did their best to be helpful in spite of us not being able to speak or understand...

I booked my stay at Remy's Garden Hotel for the Golden Week in October through their website. The price I was offered was according to the official holiday prices they offer there, quite higher than the usual prices, but to be expected and within reason. After booking I received a conformation and my girlfriend and I were looking forward to...

We stayed for three nights while on vacation and had a great time. Everyone at the hotel is really friendly, especially the owner, Remy. The rooms are clean and cute, and the breakfast is very good compared to continental breakfasts elsewhere in China. Also, the place is quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

On Gulangzu we wanted to stay in an old colonial villa. As Remys place had excellent ratings and we had the immpression that there is no great choice for this kind of hotels we choose Remys Garden Hotel. Unfortunaly the place did not live up to our exopectations and ratings on trip advisor. The rooms are ok and clean thats on...

Hello, Thank you for your review. The Title is very hard and will sure make a big effect, but in reading your letter i understand that the biggest error was that you did not book the Hotel where in fact you wanted to go. This is not really an error of our Service. All Booking companies have photos and clear...

We had a large room that was located behind the main house. On the plus side, there was a very nice sitting area in the garden where we enjoyed a drink. The location is away from the highly trafficked touristy areas, which gave us a nice break from the hordes of girls shopping in cat souvenir stores. The owner was...

The hotel is located in the depths of a labyrinth of intimate streets which are characterful and such a refreshing change from the high-rise activity of Xiamen. The island of Gulanyu is easily reached day or night by frequent ferry services from the main island, or by a thrilling speedboat transfer of less than 90 bouncing and bobbing seconds (make...

First, our flight arrived late. Then at midnight, the ferry personnel even took time to clean the vessel before we could finally board and get to Gulangyu. But there was Remy, who patiently waited for us for a good 2 hours. He dragged one of our heavy luggages along the long and winding underground tunnel to get to his bed...

We were given a better room than what we paid for, at the top of the small building. It was clean and quiet, with no noises during the night. The owner is really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, with toasts, an egg, and orange juice. The only "pity" is the bathroom, which is just outside of the room, in...

“Some of the rooms have a bathroom outside your room. It's still private, but you have to walk down the corridor to get there. If that bothers you, ask for a room with ensuite bathroom.”
