The Crown Spa has been closed for the better part of a year, and I'm not sure if they are renovating, yet there is some construction going on site. The good news is that a Doubletree Resort is being built right next door, set to open on the 1st of the month(which year and month, however, nobody knows)

This resort was a little off the beaten path and to be honest there was nothing to do outside of the resort. However when we did go off the resort we were followed for pictures. My husband and I are both African Anerican he is 6'4 and I am 5'7. It was interesting to see the reaction of our presence...

The open area of Crown Spa Resort was a beautiful oasis in the midst of a not so great area. There are unfinished building projects or renovations in all of the surrounding properties. However, our purpose in being there was to relax. The resort was not crowded and the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. The beach in front of the...

We have extended family that live in Hainan, and every time we come to visit, we stay at this hotel. (We've tried a few--this is our favorite.) It's a very "American-style" hotel: anything you could ask for, you can probably find it within resort boundaries. The resort has its own section of beach, which it grooms well (moonlit walks on...

Good hotel with fabulous swimming pool right on miles of sandy beach. If swaying palm trees, lying by the pool and balmy weather are in your plans this is a good place to stay. People said the spa facilities and services are first rate. Adequate English spoken at the front desk and currency exchange with a good rate. Located out...

I stayed in this hotel twice, in April and June, 2011. The hotel itself is huge and I wonder what the developers might have had in mind when they decided to embrace such an ambitious project in a remote part of the island. I believe the local government is spending a great deal of effort to develop the area as...

I feel this is my obligation as a traveler to WARN other travelers. This resort is going thru a major construction and the grounds of the hotel as well as the rooms are just horrific. To my dismay, there is nowhere on the Crown Spa Resort’s website anything mentioned regarding the construction so please BEWARE before you spend a lot...

Stayed for two weeks during Chinese Spring Festival. I live in China so it was nice to have authentic western food. Pizza and mexican were great, pool was clean and right on the beach. The beach was private and clean, I visited a few other beaches in the area, pretty dirty, especially Holiday Beach. A little remote but the shuttle...

I booked our stay through our timeshare exchange company. I read reviews on trip advisor and became a bit nervous about what we would find. But a few of the reviews had been very positive so I kept an open mind. My husband and I are very seasoned travelers so we are pretty resilient. The staff of this hotel are...

interesting for students of decay and decline. More than 2/3 of this hotel is derelict, i.e. no windows, trees growing from roof. The other 1/3 is a smokers paradise. Good sauna-massage. Few of the advertised services are offered or working, most of the staff can't be arsenal to do anything. Finally the hotel is surrounded by a sea of speculative,...

“Ask for a sea view room.”

“They charge extra for the sea view rooms, but you might get lucky with a standard room that you can still see the ocean from if you angle the chairs just right (we did!). Besides the view, all the rooms are practically the same. If you're a couple, I'd recommended asking for the king size bed. That room type (in comparison to the two double beds) has a foyer/desk area in addition to the bedroom.”
