Detailed Reviews
I decided to stay here because I have had pleasant experiences at the Ritz-Carleton in Shenzhen, and figured this was the only way to go here in Harbin. Glad I made this decision, as everything, from the food to the pool, and of course the service to the quality is what I have come to expect from this brand.
Upon arrival, I was met by Loyalty Manger, Annie Fu, who greeted us and set up a nice room with an excellent view (as well as some welcome gifts). Similarly, General Manager, Oliver Achatz, was also accommodating, making sure that any request was met with a smile. Again, the service coupled with the the quality is what sets apart the Ritz-Carleton, in Harbin or any other city.
The hotels itself is centrally located along the river, and within walking distance of the city, with all the attractions, including St. Sophia's Church and Zhong Yang Street. With views that are unparalleled in the city, we were happy to explore or simply lay in the room and gaze.
If you find yourself in Harbin, I recommend the Ritz-Carleton for your stay, as I am sure you will not be disappointed...

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Harbin, was nothing short of exceptional. Every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations, but what truly stood out was the warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful service we received throughout our stay.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday, and the Guest Experience Manager, Rohit, went above and beyond to make this occasion unforgettable. From upgrading us to a room with breathtaking panoramic views of the frozen river, to allowing an early check-in after our morning flight and a late check-out before our departure, every detail was handled with care and consideration. His personal touch made us feel truly special.
Special recognition also goes to Amy and Hunter, who, along with the rest of the staff, provided exceptional service. The entire team exuded warmth and professionalism, making us feel welcomed and valued at every moment.
The culinary offerings were another highlight. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets featured an impressive variety of dishes, all prepared to the highest quality standards. It was a true delight to indulge in such a feast, perfectly complementing the luxurious ambiance of the hotel.
Every element of our stay—from the beautifully appointed room to the impeccable service—came together to create an extraordinary experience that we will cherish forever. Thank you to the entire team at The Ritz-Carlton, Harbin, for making this celebration so memorable. We can't wait to return!

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Harbin for 5 days this December. We came knowing that the Ice Festival would not be open yet, but we were still hoping to see some unfinished ice sculptures maybe being constructed around town as this was the case in Sapporo when we were there. Disappointed not to see any ice sculptures around, the stay at the Ritz more than made up for it.
Firstly, the room, hotel facilities, amenities, and food were all first class. We were upgraded to a corner room with an absolutely insane view of the frozen river and the site to where the Ice Festival would be held. I’m certain this view would even be better during the festival. The room itself was spacious and very well thought out. We used the gym and the pool during our stay, and it was great having a 25 meter lap pool all to myself. The sauna, steam and jacuzzi are also free to use as a staying guest as this was attached to the pool lockers. We also dined in all the hotel’s restaurants and the food was very good and consistent.
Now the location. The hotel is a little bit further from the center of the city, maybe a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride away, but with the ease of using the Didi app, it is still quite convenient to get around. Also, the hotel’s concierge on the ground floor will gladly help you arrange transportation. More about the concierge later.
The service was overall very good but with a few hiccups due to lapses in communication, I guess. We opted to get a Club Room and there were just a few instances when staff were unsure about our club benefits. If you don’t speak any Chinese, I would imagine that communication would be a bit of an issue as well. I was having a hard time already as my Chinese is quite basic.
Now, with all that aside, the absolute highlight of our stay would be how we were royally treated by the head concierge, Rohit. He is a star. Our needs were anticipated even before asking and his service and attention to detail were second to none. Even before our arrival, our communication was seamless and welcome gifts and treats were always in our room whenever we came back from the freezing cold. In all my years of travelling, this was one of the best personalized services I have had.
Lastly, the Club experience. This one I would highly recommend, as they offer the best club benefits from my experience. With 5 different dining services during the course of the day, you will never go hungry or thirsty. I’m not sure if this was only during our stay or this is standard, but if it is offered, I would definitely suggest to get the club room.
Overall, our experience at the Ritz was epic. We are already planning our trip back to Harbin, but this time to make sure we arrive for the Ice Festival, and I’m not even going to look at any other hotel to stay in.

Firstly, all staff were very pleasant and tried hard to please all guests however, a few key issues: the elevators are a pain in the backside as you need to go up to Floor 54 to book in via one set of elevators then go down to your floor in another set, and vice versa getting out. Dean at reception was excellent, a keeper and has good English, the rest of the staff had very little. The food in the restaurant was very average for a premium price and the young female waiters had no English and served in a very amateur fashion. The bar is fantastic but it took a month of Sundays to actually get your lips around a drink, soooooooo slow!!!!!!!! (even when there was just us in the bar) The cost of living in China is very low but the drink prices made up for it!! The room was OK and had some little fancy items. The shower was a shocker, it was set to a luke warm setting and after freezing all day walking around Harbin, it was not a highlight when you got home. Most taxis and Didi's had trouble locating the hotel and ofetn gave us a mini-tour of Harbin trying to get to the entrance. At check-in they allocate 1500 rmb per day to your credit card, not sure why this system but a shock at first. I felt a lot of staff just didn't have the training or experience.

A very pleasant stay at this hotel, perfect room view. Breakfast and swimming pool are superb, seeing the lady who serves waffle at bakery section during bkf is pretty kind and patient to kids. Special thanks to Ms. Annie FU, impressed by her sweet smile, professional way and attention to details, made us feel like a home away from home. Annie helped us to solve all problems and queries during this stay, even be proactive and willing to go extra mile upon our check-out.She apparently is added-value staff to this hotel brand, hope I could have her around again for my next stay.

Our recent 5 nights stay at the Ritz-Carlton Harbin was made memorable by the exceptional service and thoughtful gestures from the team. Rohit deserves special recognition for his outstanding hospitality. He not only ensured we were assigned the room we requested, arranged a beautiful birthday cake for my partner, and surprised us with thoughtful gifts, but he also went above and beyond when we encountered a challenge purchasing medication. Upon learning that I was unwell and unable to make a purchase due to not having a China number, Rohit immediately offered his personal number to assist us, showcasing true care and dedication.
The housekeeping lady also deserves praise for her meticulous work in keeping our room spotless and her cheerful greetings in the corridor, which added a warm touch to our stay.
However, there was a disappointing moment with the front desk staff when we initially requested assistance with purchasing medication. Instead of offering to help or finding a solution, we were advised to walk a kilometer to the nearest pharmacy. This lack of flexibility and support from the front desk was unexpected and inconsistent with the otherwise impeccable service provided by other staff.
Despite this issue, our stay was exceptional. We look forward to seeing continued improvements to ensure a consistently outstanding guest experience.

It's the international hotel, not so luxurious in appearance but so beautiful in service and feel. The interiors are beautifully carved, comfortable and humane, and every detail reflects the seriousness and professionalism of the hotel manager. I love this hotel and would love to have the opportunity to enjoy it again, thank you to all the staff for this perfect experience.

What a fantastic hotel staffed by the nicest, attentive and happiest people. Like Annie who take care of everything we did and needed. What a treasure! Also Eugenia who was so helpful and made a personal handwritten and drawn welcome and Merry Christmas card to us. Then there was Barrie, the chef who invited and escorted me to the superb ice sculptures next door. Yes he personally escorted me there, then provided jacket. So kind. Biance and Cecilia in housekeeping were so sweet, also with a personal note where I was identified as "Auspicious Tim," so cute. Spa and fitness center were top notch. Lastly the breakfast buffet was the best and largest I have experienced!

The property is the first Ritz in the northeast part of China, it is definitely worth trying and even staying longer. This property has achieved a high standard promised by the Ritz-Carlton, not to mention their friendly employees. During the check-in, everything was perfectly well done smoothly, front desk agent Akagi is a true Ritz-Carlton gentleman, and all my preferences were met. He assigned a room with a wonderful river view direct to the Ice and Snow World. The room was prepared for my arrival, they got me some amenities with local treats which I loved.
During the stay, every moment was pleasing, The ladies and gentlemen in the Lobby Lounge and Manor 54 fulfilled all my requests and I do believe that they could offer more than just that.
This trip was certainly a pleasant journey and a magnificent beginning for the new year!!

The hotel is located on the edge of the Songhua River and offers beautiful river views. The sunrise and sunset were particularly spectacular and certainly worth the trip. The teasel of the guest relationship was warm, very attentive to our family's stay experience, gave a lot of advice on the trip and made our trip to Harbin very smooth. Although the hotel is located on the banks of the Songhua River, a little away from the city centre, the transportation is very convenient. Overall luxury atmosphere, will come again next time.
